WWE’s recently released WWE Unreal docuseries on Netflix featured a behind-the-scenes “lifting of the curtain” of the backstage workings of the company.
Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp reported that his sources stated that talent were not given anything they were not allowed to say and what was shown from the talent on WWE Unreal was 100% genuine. One talent spoken to stated in a joking manner that they did not realize until how just how much the word “fuck” is thrown around backstage.
In regards to things that were set up in WWE Unreal, Sapp reported that the scene where the women’s locker room gathered around to welcome Charlotte Flair back after her 2025 Women’s Royal Rumble victory was something the company had asked their women’s roster to do. Sapp reported that this was not something that was forced upon them and gathering performers for moments is something that is common practice for television shows.
Sapp also reported that several members of the women’s roster had speculated to him that the controversial promo segment between Flair and Tiffany Stratton on the April 4th SmackDown show was manufactured for Netflix. Sapp reported that there has been nothing to confirm these theories and are purely speculation.
One WWE producer spoken to reportedly was concerned about the authenticity of the show when WWE Unreal was announced but they ended up being pleased with how the series turned out.
In regards to the general reaction backstage, Sapp reported that those spoken to were happy about the buzz that the docuseries has received online.
