A recent episode of the Busted Open Radio podcast featured Cody Rhodes as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Rhodes’ thoughts about a potential heel turn for him in the future being something he has a “never say never” mindset for but does not think it might happen with the time left he has in his wrestling career.
“Well, one thing I’ve noticed about (discussion of him turning heel) is it only really exists on X. And, like, it’s deep, the discussion. It’s a deep discussion.
You never say never in wrestling. There are plenty of people that got the capacity for the light and the dark. But I don’t know. I don’t know if we’re on that road within the time I have left on my time in wrestling.”
Rhodes also gave his thoughts about the online criticisms and negative reception to his match against John Cena for the Undisputed WWE Championship at this past April’s WWE WrestleMania 41 event.
“I don’t want to go as far as making any promises. But I can tell you, the goal with SummerSlam is if people felt a certain way about WrestleMania, I would put that all on my back and take all the credit and responsibility for (them) perhaps not feeling satisfied. I’d like to get them to the finish line with SummerSlam. Very much looking forward to doing this dance again.”
