As noted before, the general backstage reaction within WWE was one of being very thrilled with Sunday’s Evolution 2 event in Atlanta, Georgia and happiness over Naomi’s WWE Women’s World Championship victory at the event. This reaction also led to many within WWE feeling that the company has to do another Evolution event in the future.
Fightful Select reported that their sources confirmed that the reaction backstage from WWE executives was the show being a hit and being pleased with it viewing it as a success. Those spoken to reportedly stated that WWE officials also felt that there will be another Evolution event in the future.
It was reported that WWE officials also currently want to use WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus again and she is currently expected to be back in the ring later this year.
It was also reported that one high-level WWE official stated that the women’s roster was put in a position to overdeliver and they were happy with how the matches turned out.
In regards to the matches, it was reported that both the WWE Women’s World Championship match and the Women’s Intercontinental Championship Triple Threat match received high marks and internal praise within WWE.
It was also reported that WWE Hall of Famer Molly Holly helped produce the No Holds Barred Special Guest Referee match of Naomi vs. Jade Cargill with Bianca Belair as the guest referee.
It was reported that talent spoken to within the Women’s division were very happy with the event. Some of those spoken to reportedly stated that they had expressed that they wished the show had received a bigger buildup but they found the challenge filling the gaps on social media more fun.
