Taichi defeated Tomohiro Ishii, Satoshi Kojima, and Chase Owens in a Last Chance Play-In Gauntlet match.

Taichi replaces Hirooki Goto for this year’s G1 Climax tournament following Goto being pulled due to a right elbow injury.
This year’s G1 Climax tournament takes place from July 19th to August 17th in Japan.
