Taz to be Inducted Into 2300 Arena Hardcore Hall of Fame

Following Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, AEW CEO Tony Khan came out and announced that ECW legend and AEW commentator Taz will be getting inducted into the 2300 Arena’s Hardcore Hall of Fame during this Saturday’s AEW Collision taping.

Following the announcement, AEW held a special tribute ceremony for Taz with the majority of AEW’s roster coming out wearing Team Taz Dojo shirts.

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that the induction announcement was something that AEW officials had planned as a surprise for Taz at the show.

Backstage Update on HOOK’s Surprise Return on 8/27 AEW Dynamite Show & His New Entrance Song

As noted before, Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania featured HOOK making his surprise return. HOOK’s return was notable for him coming out to a new entrance theme song of “So Tell The Girls That I Am Back In Town” by Jay-Jay Johanson.

Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that there has been a surprising amount of drama backstage surrounding the change of HOOK’s entrance theme song.

It was reported that recent negative comments made by Action Bronson, who HOOK previously used for his entrance song, about AEW had soured the relationshop between the rapper and promotion. It was reported that Bronson’s comments didn’t sit well with a number of people in AEW.

Those spoken to reportedly stated that things between AEW and Bronson were smoothed over eventually but AEW CEO Tony Khan had decided to go in a different direction with new music for HOOK anyway.

It was reported that HOOK’s most recent appearances late last year into early 2025 were carefully constructed so that he’d be brought out with other people and also have him attack people without his entrance music playing. This reportedly was a deliberate choice made by AEW officials due to the deliberations about the Action Bronson song, which AEW’s licensing for the song had expired and Khans plans for what to do with HOOK’s entrance music.

Mark Briscoe Announces Birth of New Child in Family

Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania also featured Mark Briscoe making a special announcement.

During the show, a video aired featuring Briscoe saying that he was at his farm and missed being at the show. Briscoe revealed that the reason for his abscense was due to the recent birth of a new child named Mark for his family.

After the announcement, Briscoe then proceeded to talk about his issues with MJF and then turned his attention towards Kyle Fletcher issuing a challenge for his TNT Championship.
