As noted before, Karrion Kross and Scarlett’s contracts with WWE is currently set to expire this weekend.
Dave Meltzer reported in a recent episode of the Wrestling Observer Radio that Kross did recently get an offer from WWE to potentially remain in the company.
In regards to the reports of Kross not getting any new offers from WWE, Meltzer reported that it is possible that could have been true at the time of those reports.
Meltzer speculated that he does not expect Kross to be leaving WWE and going anywhere else. Meltzer also speculated that Kross’ contract situation “smells like an angle” due to WWE has promoted Kross’ new book and Paul Heyman had praised him comparing his fan momentum to Stone Cold Steve Austin, Daniel Bryan, and CM Punk during a recent interview on The Ariel Helwani Show this week.
Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that Kross and Scarlett’s contracts were originally set to expire on August 10th. It was reported that their sources within WWE and close to the couple have gone quiet of late which is often an indication that negotiations or changes are in motion.
In regards to the reason why Kross and Scarlett were not in attendance backstage at this past Monday’s WWE RAW show in Brooklyn, New York, it was reported that the duo had been initially scheduled to travel for the show this week but plans were unexpectedly scrapped for reasons currently not known.
Those close to Kross and Scarlett reportedly stated that the couple have kept their contract status private and only addressing it when asked directly. It was reported that as of this past Monday, they were still telling people that no offer had yet been made. It was also reported that Kross and Scarlett were also not informed that WWE had planned to let their deals lapse without any effort to re-sign them.
It was reported that Kross and Scarlett have little incentive to confirm a new deal publicly due to not doing so could help their negotiating position. It was also reported that the current belief is that an offer has either just been made or is imminent.
