Karrion Kross & Scarlett WWE Departures Situation Update

As noted before, Karrion Kross and Scarlett’s contracts with WWE expired this past Sunday and both of their roster profiles were moved over to WWE’s Alumni section on their website.

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources stated that everyone within WWE is currently playing it up as if Kross and Scarlett’s departures are real and not a work.

Meltzer reported that one possible indicator that Kross and Scarlett’s departures might actually be a work instead is at the time of his report, WWE was still selling Kross merchandise at regular price and not marked down for clearance which would be the usual case for someone who left the company.

Meltzer also reported that high-level WWE officials stated that they legitimately don’t know Kross and Scarlett’s exact situation in regards to if its actually real or just a work but they currently expect that the end result will be that both are brought back to a big fan reaction to the company.

Meltzer also reported that another potential indicator that this might be a work is recent comments made by Kross during an interview with The Ariel Helwani Show about him saying that him and Scarlett want to be in WWE. Meltzer reported that if someone really is a free agent, this would be the last thing you would say because any company of substance that would have been interested would be automatically turned off due to the worst thing to do is bring in someone who would rather want to be in WWE.

Meltzer also reported that one person involved in the indie wrestling scene stated that Kross and Scarlett are currently asking for a very high price tag for bookings and they were not buying Kross and Scarlett’s departures being legit.

In regards to the lack of “We Want Kross” chants at WWE shows this week, Meltzer reported that while there were no crowd chants at this past Monday’s WWE RAW show in Quebec City, there was an attempted by one or two people in Orlando at this past Tuesday’s NXT show. Meltzer reported that this attempted chant took place during a commercial break spot on the show. Meltzer also reported that next week’s show in Philadelphia might be a better indicator of the actual fan support level for Kross due to the city being more suited for that type of thing to happen. Meltzer also reported that security confiscating Kross signs at shows would indicate that WWE was not looking for the reaction or making it stronger for Kross.
