Update on ROH Women’s Pure Title Tournament Plans

As noted before, this past Friday’s Death Before Dishonor 2025 event at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania featured the start of Ring of Honor’s Women’s Pure Championship tournament to crown an inaugural champion. This tournament had been delayed from its originally planned start date of this past April due to issues involving injuries to competitors who had been planned to be involved in it.

Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that ROH officials plans for the tournament was finalized in the week before its start.

It was reported that talent spoken to during the summer had stated that they had not heard any updates on the plans for the title during that time. Those spoken to reportedly had believed that the plans for the title and tournament had been abandoned.

It was also reported that the brackets for the tournament were not finalized until late last week and talent were informed then.

In regards to Death Before Dishonor 2025, it was reported that some of the plans for the event also came together in the week before the show. It was reported that despite the streaming issues causing the show to be aired live on YouTube, those within ROH were happy with the positive buzz the show received from airing on YouTube.
