Vince McMahon Sex Trafficking Lawsuit Update – Dr. Carlon Colker’s Counsel Reportedly Briefly Filed Janel Grant’s Medical Records Publicly in Defamation Lawsuit

As noted before, former WWE employee Janel Grant filed a lawsuit in January of 2024 against former WWE/TKO Executive Chairman Vince McMahon accusing McMahon of committing sex trafficking and sexual abuse towards her during her time in the company. Besides McMahon, WWE and former WWE Head of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis were also named defendants in the lawsuit. Grant filed a new amended lawsuit this past February detailing new evidence and claims against McMahon, Laurinaitis, WWE, and others. Grant’s lawyers had also filed petition against a WWE Wellness doctor named Carlon Colker and his clinic in July of 2024 for medical records related to her lawsuit, which was court ordered to be released earlier this month.

Post Wrestling and Wrestlenomics’ Brandon Thurston reported that Dr. Colker’s legal counsel had submitted a legal filing this past Tuesday that contained excerpts from Grant’s medical records without reactions and which were initially viewable on the public docket. Thurston reported that Judge Sarah F. Russell had ordered for the filing to be be sealed this past Wednesday as a result.

Thurston reported that in Colker’s defamation case against Grant and her legal team, Colker’s attorneys had included portions of medical records from Grant’s visits to Peak Wellness in their opposition to Ann Callis’s motion to dismiss the suit. Colker’s attorneys included the records to argue that Callis’ statements about Colker were false and defamatory.

In regards to the filing being sealed, Judge Russell issued the order for Colker’s initial filing to be sealed after it was determined that it included private medical details and Grant’s birthdate. Thurston reported that medical information and birthdates are often protected from public disclosure in legal cases and Grant’s medical records had been previously submitted by Callis’s counsel along with a request to file them under seal, meaning they were accessible to the court and the parties involved but were not viewable by the public. Thurston reported that these records would remain sealed unless the judge later denied the request.

Thurston reported that Colker’s legal team had filed this past Wednesday a redacted version of the brief with the medical record excerpts blacked out.

Thurston also reported that it is currently not known if the initial public filing of Grant’s medical information was done intentionally or accidentally. When contacted over this issue, Colker’s attorneys from Brito PLLC reportedly did not respond back for comment. Representatives for Grant reportedly also declined to comment when contacted for his report.
