John Cena vs. Logan Paul Set for WWE Clash In Paris
Friday’s WWE SmackDown show at the Belle Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada featured one new match announced for the card of Clash in Paris, which takes place on August 31st at the Paris La Défense Arena in Nanterre, France.
This new match announced was a singles match of John Cena vs. Logan Paul.
This match was setup following a promo segment involving Cena and Paul. During the show, Cena came out and talked about how WWE used to be afraid to go to Montreal over fears the crowd would hijack the show due to their past history in Canada. Cena stated that he has never been afraid of that and he always known that the audience is the show. After some more words praising the crowd and soaking up their cheers and chants, Cena talked about him starting to understand him nearing the end of his career and becoming more afraid every single time a day goes by. After some more words about all the fears he has on his mind including the fear of fans forgetting about him when he is gone from wrestling, Cena turned his attention towards Brock Lesnar. Cena proceeded to address Lesnar’s attack on him at SummerSlam and told him that Lesnar not has a John Cena problem and when Lesnar want some, come get some. Cena then stated that anyone brave enough to walk the aisle and face off with the last real champion, he plans to go down guns blazing. Cena stated that the last time is now, so if you want some, come get some!

This led to Paul’s music playing to interrupt and he made his way down to the ring. After some insults banter between the two, Paul challenged Cena to a match at Clash in Paris. This led to Drew McIntyre running out to attack Cena and Paul joining in resulting in Cody Rhodes running out to save Cena and helped clear the ring of Paul and McIntyre. Cena then responded to Paul’s challenge accepting it and stated that since they wanted a fight tonight, he challenged Paul and McIntyre to a tag team match against him and Rhodes tonight. Afterwards, it was announced this tag match was made official for the show.
