Friday’s CMLL 92nd Anniversario event at the Arena Mexico in Mexico City, Mexico featured Templario & Titan defeating Galeon Fantasma (Barboza & Difunto) in the Finals to become the winners of this year’s Copa Independencia tournament.

Felino & Rey Bucanero Both Lose Hair vs. Hair Match

Friday’s CMLL 92nd Anniversario event also featured Felino and Rey Bucanero both losing a Hair vs. Hair match against each other.

Near the end of the match, Felino and Bucanero hit low blow kicks to each other at the same time sending both to the ground in pain. This led to the referee calling for the bell and the match ruled as a double disqualification.

Since neither man won the match, both had to have their hair cut off as per the match’s stipulation.

Mistico Wins CMLL World Light Heavyweight Title

Friday’s CMLL 92nd Anniversario event also featured Mistico defeating MJF to become the new CMLL World Light Heavyweight Champion.

This match also featured Mistico’s mask being on the line as a stipulation.

Esfinge Defeats El Valiente in Mask vs. Mask Match

Friday’s CMLL 92nd Anniversario event also featured Esfinge defeating El Valiente in a mask vs. mask match.

This match was setup following Esfinge & El Valiente defeating Último Guerrero & Averno and Dragón Rojo Jr. & Bárbaro Cavernario in a Three-way Tag Team Elimination match. Under CMLL rules, the winning team advances to a Lucha de Apuestas match and due to both Esfinge and El Valiente being masked wrestlers, this match was held as a mask vs. mask match.

Following the match, El Valiente took off his mask and revealed his real name of Fernando Vega from Guadalajara, Mexico. After the announcement, Vega attacked Esfinge cutting his celebration short as the show went to a close.
