Update on WWE’s Current Plans for Wrestlepalooza & Potential AJ Lee WWE Return

As noted before, this past Sunday’s WWE Clash in Paris event in Nanterre, France featured Becky Lynch attacking CM Punk and being revealed as the newest member of her husband Seth Rollins’ The Vision group, which quickly led to online rumors of Punk’s wife AJ Lee making a potential return to WWE soon. Monday’s WWE RAW show in Nanterre featured a promo segment involving Punk and Lynch both teasing Lee’s upcoming return to WWE.

The Wrestling Observer’s Bryan Alvarez reported on Twitter that his sources confirmed that Lee is currently planned to make her return to WWE soon.

Alvarez reported that WWE officials current plans are for Lee to team up with Punk in a tag team match against Lynch and Rollins at their Wrestlepalooza event on September 20th in Indianapolis, Indiana.

“So Punk & AJ vs. Seth & Becky is planned for WrestlePalooza.”

This would be Lee’s first match since the March 30, 2015 episode of WWE RAW, which was the RAW After Mania show after WrestleMania 31.

In regards to other matches currently planned for Wrestlepalooza, PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that a singles match of John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar and an Undisputed WWE Championship match of Drew McIntyre vs. Cody Rhodes (c) are currently expected to be on the card for the event.
