Millie McKenzie Announces She’s Cutting Back on Her Wrestling Schedule Due To Rare Form of Liver Disease
United Kingdom indies wrestler Millie McKenzie announced on Tuesday on Twitter that she is completely cutting back on her wrestling schedule due to dealing with a rare form of liver disease.
McKenzie stated that she has been dealing with this disease for her whole life and this was the reason for her recent hospital stay. McKenzie also stated that she currently needs a liver transplant as a result of her disease recently progressing much faster than expected.
“Thank you everyone for the kind words. I am now out of hospital. For those that don’t know, l’ve lived with a rare form of liver disease all my life. Unfortunately it’s progressed much faster than expected meaning I will continue to deteriorate until I receive a liver transplant.
Because of this I have to completely cut back my wrestling schedule. Hopefully my liver will stabilise, which might allow to me continue wrestling in some form. I have to be extremely careful to not to push myself too much at the moment, while I’m trying to build my strength back up.
This is not a decision l’ve made lightly, i wish things were different. I’ve wrestled since I was 14, it’s been my life. Hopefully I will see you all at a show soon.”

Mark Briscoe Comments on His View of FTR Matches Trilogy in ROH Being The Swan Song for The Briscoes
Fightful held a recent interview with Mark Briscoe. One of the topics discussed included Briscoe’s thoughts about his view that The Briscoes’ trilogy of matches against FTR in Ring of Honor was the swan song for him and his late brother Jay’s careers as a tag team.
“When we got done with that match, me and Jay, there was a sense of awe, shock, and amazement. We both agreed, he was like, ‘Chicken, that felt like a dream. That didn’t even feel real.’ I was like, ‘You took the words out of my mouth.’ It really honestly felt like a dream. Like I was watching it happen even though I was in the midst of it. It was crazy. All three of those matches will always be special to me. Obviously as the Briscoe Brothers kind of swan song. It was just unreal.”
Briscoe also gave his thoughts about his special relationship with his late brother and how FTR laughed at their playful bickering.
“We were the type of best friends that would fight on a daily basis. The first match with FTR, before the show, we’re putting this match together and it was not going smoothly whatsoever. It was tension. Next thing you know, me and Jay get arguing about something. ‘Nah, that’s stupid. We should do it like this.’ We’re sitting there, like we did all the time, fussing at each other and almost getting ready to throw down. We look over and Dax and Cash are almost laughing. It was like an icebreaker. From that moment forward, it was smooth sailing.”

I wanna take it one day at a time. I’m 1-0 right now. I would like to be 2-0, 3-0, 4-0 and then just keep it going, and man, just believe in myself. You gotta focus on one thing, and I wanna focus on this.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
