Lainey Reid Pulled from NXT No Mercy 2025 Due To Not Being Medically Cleared To Compete
Saturday’s WWE NXT No Mercy 2025 event at the War Memorial Auditorium in Fort Lauderdale, Florida featured WWE SVP of NXT and Talent Relations Shawn Michaels announcing that Lainey Reid has been pulled from the show due to her not being medically cleared to compete.
Reid had been scheduled to compete against Sol Ruca for the WWE Women’s Speed Championship at the event.
Michaels announced that Ruca will still be defending her WWE Women’s Speed Championship against a new mystery opponent on the show.

In a follow-up segment, Reid was interviewed backstage by Kelly Kincaid for some words about her not being medically cleared to compete. After some words by Reid, the camera panned down showing Reid wearing a walking boot revealing her injury to be a foot injury. After some more words by Reid about her promising that she will win the Women’s Speed Championship when she is medically cleared, Lola Vice showed up to interrupt and told Lainey that her time will come. Lainey responded back stating there is no way that Lola is beating Jacy. Vice responded back telling Lainey to be careful because with one kick she can break that leg.

NXT Invasion Announced for October 7th Show & NXT vs. TNA Survivor Series Matches Announced for Show
Saturday’s WWE NXT No Mercy 2025 event also featured NXT General Manager Ava announced a new special called Invasion will be taking place on October 7th on The CW.
During the show, Ava was seen in her office talking about the invasion by TNA wrestlers and brawl at this past Tuesday’s NXT show. Ava talked about how the relationship between NXT and TNA has deteriorated and after a talk with TNA Director of Authority Santino Marella to resolve things. Ava stated that they came to an agreement and on October 7th there will be an event called “Invasion” featuring NXT and TNA wrestlers competing against each other in Men’s and Women’s Survivor Series
This upcoming new special is called “Invasion” and will be featuring NXT and TNA talents competing in Men’s and Women’s Survivor Series matches.
Besides the Survivor Series matches, Ava also announced that DarkState and The Hardys will be competing in a NXT Tag Team Championship and TNA World Tag Team Championship, Title vs. Title match on the show.
Ava also announced that Trick Williams and Oba Femi will be having a rematch with everyone to be banned from ringside.

El Hijo De Dr. Wagner Jr. Makes Surprise Appearance
Saturday’s WWE NXT No Mercy 2025 event also featured AAA Latin American Champion El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. making a surprise appearance.
Following “All Ego” Ethan Page’s victory over Tavion Heights to retain the NXT North American Championship, Page’s victory celebration was cut short by El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. showing up on the big screen. El Hijo stated that if Page wants his AAA Latin American title so bad, he has his eyes on Page’s North American title. El Hijo then stated that he will see Ethan soon.

This was Saints’ first ever NXT Championship victory in his WWE NXT career.

In regards to the new segment, this was announced to be NXT GM Ava and TNA Director of Authority Santino Marella picking their teams for the NXT vs. TNA Men’s and Women’s Survivor Series matches at NXT Invasion show.
