Friday’s WWE SmackDown drew 1,585,000 viewers on USA Network, up from the prior week’s 1,147,000 viewers. That week’s show was notable for SmackDown returning to its live timeslot after the prior week’s show aired on tape delay in the United States due to it took place in France and for also being AJ Lee’s return to WWE for the first time in ten years.
It drew a 0.51 rating in the 18-49 demographic, up from to the prior week’s 0.28 rating.
In regards to notable sports competition, the 2025 U.S. Open Tennis Men’s Seminal drew 1,639,000 viewers on USA Network, the College Football game of James Madison vs. Louisville drew 818,000 viewers on ESPN, the MLB game of Toronto Blue Jays vs. New York Yankees or Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Baltimore Orioles drew 372,000 viewers on MLB Network, and the Women’s College Volleyball game of Kentucky vs. Penn State drew 462,000 viewers on FOX.
Last year’s SmackDown on September 6, 2024 drew 1,770,000 viewers and a 0.45 rating on FOX. The September 8, 2023 episode drew 2,094,000 viewers on FOX.
