In-Ring: Paul Heyman, Cody Rhodes, The Vision, Randy Orton

We cut to ringside where we hear from Paul Heyman, who has a question for the Orlando crowd…so, what do ya wanna talk about? Do you wanna talk about the REAL World Heavyweight Champion, Seth Rollins? This gets some boos, so Paul starts to change the subject when the crowd chants “OTC”…to which Paul says he would love to talk about Roman Reigns, but it’s disrespectful to talk about the injured when he got stretched out of Paris by Bronson Reed. Shall we talk about the dog who will main event WrestleMania for five to ten straight years, Bron Breakker?

Or should we talk about the conspiracy theories and the rumors surrounding Brrroooock Lesnarrrr? This gets a bit of a pop, but before Heyman can go on any further Cody’s music hits to interrupt. The WWE Champion comes out to a big pop, the crowd singing along to his theme as Rhodes makes his way down the ramp. We get a glimpse of the Crown Jewel ring from last year as Cody gets on a turnbuckle to another big pop. The champ enters the ring to get a microphone, the crowd still cheering loudly before chanting his name.

He plays to the crowd once more, who start doing a “Cody, Cody Rhoooooodes” chant. This gets a smile from the champ, but Heyman looks barely fazed. Cody asks if we all got a chance to see that Wrestlepalooza video package, which gets a mixed reaction leaning more toward booing. Cody wants to get right to the point, so let’s talk about Brock Lesnar.

He offers evidence about what he’s trying to talk about, showing a still from Wrestlepalooza with Heyman standing by Lesnar ahead of the match against John Cena. Cody wants to know who he’s talking to. Is he talking to the Oracle, the Wiseman, or the Advocate?

Heyman says Cody is talking to the GOAT…and as the Greatest Of All Time, he respects that Cody is asking him about Brock Lesnar. Cody and everyone else knows that when Brock Lesnar is here, everyone is in danger. Paul has good news for Rhodes, saying that Lesnar is not here tonight as Breakker and Bronson enter the ring. Heyman states that even though Brock isn’t here, who’s to say Cody is not in danger right now?

Heyman gets onto the apron as Cody addresses Bron Breakker first, bringing up what Heyman likes to say about Bron before talking about growing up around bookers and people like Paul Heyman. Whatever he sees in a main eventer waiting to happen, it ain’t Bron Breakker. This gets Breakker riled up as he takes his shirt off, and Cody takes his jacket off as he looks to square up with both men despite it being a “bad decision on his part”!

He starts unloading shots on Breakker and Reed, but the numbers game is too much for the champ before Randy Orton runs down for the save! He catches Reed with an RKO as Cody sends Breakker to the outside. The two men stand tall as the Vision regroups on the ramp.

Backstage: Street Profits

Backstage, we hear from Street Profits who insist that any issues between them mean little compared to their mission of regaining the WWE Tag Team Championship. With that, we head back to ringside as the Profits make their way out for our opening contest, which is coming up next!

WWE Tag Team Championship #1 Contender Match
The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford) vs. Melo Don’t Miz (Carmelo Hayes & The Miz)

We start off with Miz and Montez, with Melo causing a distraction to get Miz a roll up for a two count. A little bit of arguing between Hayes and the ref, but Melo tags in with a quick nearfall on Ford who counters for a two count of his own. Dawkins tags in with an assist, and the Profits take Melo down before sending Miz out of the ring. Angelo leaves the ring looking to get the jump on Miz, only for Melo to cut him off before we go to break.

We come back from break just as Miz gets the advantage on Ford, a DDT leading to a two count before Montez kicks out. There’s an opening for Hayes to get a leg drop on Ford, allowing Miz to pick up another nearfall in the process. Ford manages to fight back, but Hayes gets the tag to take Dawkins off the apron and isolate Tez. Dawkins is held back by the ref as Hayes sends Ford to the corner for more damage.

Ford gets a couple shots in before reaching over for a tag…but Angelo gets pulled off the apron by Miz! Hayes hits the First 48 on Ford before going up top, but Miz tags himself in leading to some arguing between them…and this allows Dawkins to get the tag! He takes Miz down with a flurry of offense before tagging Ford back in for a frog splash and the win!

Winner: The Street Profits via Pinfall.

We get a replay of the finish and the Profits having their celebration cut short as they stare down the Wyatt Sicks who arrive at the commentary station.

Backstage: Jade Cargill, Stephanie Vaquer

Backstage, we hear from Jade Cargill who looks to become the new Women’s Champion after the triple threat tonight. Speaking of new champions, Stephanie Vaquer is here to help remind us that whoever wins the match tonight will face her at Crown Jewel for the right to be called Women’s Crown Jewel Champion.

Giulia & Kiana James vs. B-Fab & Michin

We start off with James and Fab circling the mat, before Kiana attacks Michin on the apron. She then goes after Fab, who takes her to the mat for a two count. Tag made to Michin and the pair double-team James before Michin covers for a two. Michin taunts Giulia before attacking James some more, but Kiana breaks free for a tag to the Women’s United States Champion! Giulia tosses Michin around before landing a stomp.

Michin manages to turn things around until Giulia leaves the ring, taking a short breather with Kiana’s help before B-Fab goes on the attack. Michin comes running out as well before Giula sends her over the commentary table. Giulia starts to celebrate before Michin makes her way onto the table, charging at the champ with a dropkick off the table and to the floor as we go to a commercial break.

Back from break, Kiana has control with B-Fab in the corner. Giulia sneaks in a tag before James hits a dropkick on Fab, followed up with a missile dropkick from Giulia for a two count. James tags back in, but B-Fab dodges a double foot stomp to knock the champ off the apron…only for James to take control once again. Fab manages to break free for a tag to Michin, who lands a flurry of offense to get a cover on James…but Giulia breaks it up at two!

Fab comes in for an assist, dealing with Giulia as Michin goes back after Kiana. James stops Eat Defeat the first time, taking it the second go around before backing into the corner…where Giulia gets the tag for an Arrivederci and the Northern Lights Bomb to get the pin and the win!

Winner: Giulia & Kiana James via Pinfall.

Backstage: Alexa Bliss, Charlotte Flair, ZaRuca

We cut backstage to see Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair confronted by NXT’s Sol Ruca and Zaria, who want a shot at the Women’s Tag Team Championship. Charlotte insists there’s a line before Bliss tells them they need to be more of a tag team, with the NXT pairing promising to be in the front of the line before they know it.

Video Package: Looking back at the creation of the men’s and women’s Crown Jewel Championships ahead of this year’s matches for the respective titles. This year sees Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes face off for the men’s title, and Stephanie Vaquer will face the winner of tonight’s Women’s Championship match for the women’s title. In addition, John Cena will face AJ Styles as part of Cena’s retirement tour!

In-Ring: Drew McIntyre, Nick Aldis, Jacob Fatu

Back at ringside, Drew McIntyre makes his way out wearing what appears to be a cast of sorts after what he went through at Wrestlepalooza. We will hear from him up next …

Drew is already in the ring as we come back to ringside, and he has a microphone as he addresses the history he has with the building. He came back to WWE in 2017 at Takeover in this building, he won his second WWE Championship in front of a bunch of screens, and it should’ve been where he stands as the WWE Champion now after Wrestlepalooza.

He talks about the fact he should’ve had the match won, talking about the issue of the referee before ultimately saying he forgives Ryan Tran for it. He doesn’t blame the ref, he blames Cody Rhodes. Drew is interrupted by Nick Aldis, with the SmackDown GM telling McIntyre not to make excuses. He doesn’t know where the boot Drew has came from, because the WWE medical team didn’t give it to him.

Drew says it might as well be the Cody Rhodes medical team, but Nick refuses to deal with Drew’s talk about corruption. McIntyre insists he’s a champion without a championship, but before he can get any further Jacob Fatu’s music hits as the Samoan Werewolf makes his way down to the ring. We get a staredown between the two before Jacob grabs the mic from McIntyre, with Fatu telling Drew to shut up and stop (complaining).

He gives out to McIntyre about his whining before telling him to sit down, and Drew asks who Jacob thinks he is. Drew says if he wasn’t hurt right now–Jacob interrupts to say that he is all gas, no brakes with it! Drew responds to this with a headbutt knocking Fatu back, but Jacob fights right back before pulling the boot off McIntyre’s foot and laying him out with it! Jacob’s music hits as he stands tall over McIntyre.

Backstage: Tiffany Stratton, Stephanie Vaquer

Backstage, Stephanie Vaquer tells Tiffany Stratton she will be watching the champ tonight during the title match, as we will see who faces Vaquer at Crown Jewel.

Backstage: Sami Zayn, Rey Fenix

Sami Zayn talks to Rey Fenix about the open challenge, admitting it could be anyone from SmackDown or Raw facing him as someone lurks in the background (I see you, whoever you are). From there, we cut to ringside as Zayn heads out for the United States Championship Open Challenge coming up next.

Video Package: Solo Sikoa gives JC Mateo his proverbial flowers for his accolades and his loyalty in being a part of Solo’s family tree. Mateo says “I love you, Solo.”

WWE United States Championship Open Challenge Match
Je’Von Evans vs. Sami Zayn (c)

Back at ringside, Sami Zayn awaits the answer to his open challenge…never mind Raw or SmackDown, NXT has answered the call as Je’Von Evans comes out to a nice pop from the Orlando crowd! The night before he faces Josh Briggs at No Mercy he’s competing for the United States Championship as this match gets underway!

Evans is greeted by “NXT” chants before he locks up with the champ. They trade holds before Zayn takes the challenger to the mat, but also allows Evans to get back to his feet. They go back at it, and Sami gets taken to the corner before Evans backs off. This allows Zayn to take control with some chops, and heads to the ropes for a springboard attack and a two count over the champ.

He follows up with a hurricanrana for another nearfall, before landing a dropkick that sends Zayn to the outside. Je’Von goes for a dive but is cut off as Sami comes back in with a clothesline, sending the challenger down hard as we go to a commercial break.

We’re back just as Zayn regains control with some strikes, but gets caught and sent over the rope to the outsdie before Evans hits a dive onto the champ. Je’Von brings Sami back in the ring, managing to break away from a Blue Thunder Bomb attempt to take the champ to the mat with a spinning kick for a two. Sami is sent to the corner and propped up on the turnbuckle, only to send Evans to the canvas with a chop.

Sami balances himself on the top but is caught with a hurricanrana by the challenger, who takes another close pinfall before the champ kicks out. Evans heads to the corner as he charges at Zayn, who catches him with an exploder into the turnbuckle! He runs across for a Helluva Kick…but Evans cuts him off with a kick of his own!

Double spring torneo splash gets him nothing as Zayn rolls away, but the champ is still in trouble as Evans runs to the corner once more. OG Cutter connects on the champ, and Evans makes the cover…but Sami kicks out just in the nick of time! The crowd is getting pretty loud as the two go back at it, with Evans narrowly missing an attack on Zayn…who takes the challenger down with a Blue Thunder Bomb to win and retain!

Winner: Sami Zayn via Pinfall to retain the WWE United States Championship.

Sportsmanship shown as Sami helps Evans to his feet, raising the challenger’s hand up to a nice pop from the crowd.

Backstage: Nia Jax, Chelsea Green, Alba Fyre, Stephanie Vaquer

We cut backstage, where Chelsea Green tries to recruit Nia Jax to the Secret Hervice. No dice as Nia tears the application up before walking away…just as Stephanie Vaquer appears, letting Jax knows she’ll be watching. Jax says she looks forward to standing across the ring from Stephanie when she becomes the new Women’s Crown Jewel Champion. With that, she walks off as we go to commercial break.

Backstage: Kit Wilson, Damian Priest, Malakai Black

Backstage, Kit Wilson confronts Damian Priest about what he did to him…before tripping on his wheelchair when Priest confronts him. This gives Aleister Black an opening to attack, saying it looks like we’re getting somewhere now. He says this is going to continue until only one of them is left standing, and then wishes Priest a happy birthday before walking off.

WWE Women’s Championship Triple Threat Match
Jade Cargill vs. Nia Jax vs. Tiffany Stratton (c)

Nia grabs the champ, throwing her into Jade before continuing to use Tiffy as a weapon. Jade hits the ropes to fight back, but Nia stands her ground before Stratton hits a dropkick on both women to take us to picture-in-picture.

Picture-in-Picture: Jade manages to turn things around, sending Nia away before getting a nearfall on the champion. Nia catches Jade on the apron, but the champ takes an opening to drop Nia to the floor before taking the fight to Cargill back in the ring. She sends Jade to the corner, but is cut off by a returning Jax who hits a clothesline on her. Nia is fended off by Cargill, only for Stratton to sneak a nearfall on Jade for her efforts. Tiffy with some more offense on Cargill, who counters for a nearfall of her own before hitting the ropes…only to be tripped up by Nia, who pulls her out of the ring and sends Cargill to the barricade. The attack continues as Jax sends her to announce table, but Jade starts fighting back as we come back from break!

Tiffy gets caught on her way out of the ring for a dive, and Jade sends Nia away before bringing the champ back into the ring…only for Nia to send her into the ring steps! Jax enters the ring, telling Stratton that “Tiffy Time is over” before laying into the champ. Stratton starts to fight back just as Cargill gets back into it, taking Tiffy down for a cover before Nia breaks up the pin.

Jade catches Jax in the corner before Tiffy rolls her up for a nearfall. Jade goes for a submission but gets put on her shoulders for two, before Jax hits a leg drop on Cargill as we go to…another picture-in-picture break. Lovely.

Picture-in-Picture: Nia takes control of the match, laying into both Stratton and Cargill before Jade is able to get some offense in. She sets Tiffy up in a tree of woe but is cut off by Jax, who finds herself dealing with the onslaught of Stratton as we come back from break once more!

Tiffy has Nia caught on the turnbuckle as Jade joins her for a double superplex, sending all three women to the mat! All three struggle to get up, with Tiffy getting the opening for a Prettiest Moonsault Ever…but no one is home, and Jade sneaks a nearfall as a result. Jax is sent out of the ring as Jade sends the champ to the ropes…but Tiffy turns it around, sending Cargill to the corner. She charges at Jade, who fights back to hit Jaded on the champ and makes the cover…only for Jax to pull the ref out of the ring!

Jade goes off on Nia, clearing the announce table before looking to lift up Jax…but gets sent into the ring steps instead! She sets the steps up before looking for a suplex, but Jade counters using the added leverage to hoist Nia up for a Samoan Drop onto the steps! Jade is busted open after the recent events, and the ref checks on her as Nia rolls back into the ring…where Jade meets her with an Eye of the Storm for the cover!

NO! Stratton breaks it up, sending Jade away to get the cover on Jax instead…but the ref inexplicably stops the count short of three. There seems to be a miscommunication somewhere as Tiffy changes her strategy by heading to the turnbuckle for a Prettiest Moonsault Ever to pick up the win and retain the title!

Winner: Tiffany Stratton via Pinfall to retain the WWE Women’s Championship.

The celebration is cut short as Stephanie Vaquer makes her way to the ring, with the Women’s World Champion staring down Stratton as both champions raise their titles up to bring SmackDown to a close.
