Hikaru Shida Returning to United States
As noted before, Hikaru Shida has been absent from AEW since this past November due to work visa-related issues. During her time away from AEW and from her home in the United States, Kenny Omega had been taking care of Shida’s pet cats at his home until Shida resolved her visa issues this past August.
Shida provided an update earlier today on Twitter stating that she is ready to return to the United States again after another stay in Japan.
“Soaking in the hot springs at the airport, eating curry in the lounge, and fully prepared! See you later, Japan👋🇯🇵 I’m ready to go back to the US✈️🇺🇸”

Nigel McGuinness Comments on His In-Ring Career Future
A recent episode of The Wombreezy Wrestling Podcast featured AEW commentator Nigel McGuinness as the guest. One of the topics discussed included McGuinness’ thoughts about the future of his in-ring wrestling career.
“Of wrestling? No, good lord, no [laughs]. My full years of wrestling are long, long gone. Good lord, you could have asked me probably 10 years ago and I would have said the ship has truly sailed when it comes to me even wrestling again. But I guess, truthfully, without AEW and specifically Tony Khan, I never would have got this opportunity again.
I don’t think there’s any benefit to me wrestling a full-time schedule. [The] sort of part-time schedule that I’m currently on, you know, if an opportunity presents itself and it makes sense from a storyline perspective, then I’ll do it. I love doing it. But, yeah, not full-time. There’s too many guys on the roster anyway, younger guys, who deserve more of those spots than me. But if I can add a little bit of flavor, little bit of spice, to what else is going on with my experience and the fact that they see me on TV every week as a commentator, then I think that’s the best way they can use me.”

Don Callis Family Issues Challenge to Big Boom AJ & Mystery Partner for AEW Full Gear 2025
AEW recently released a new video featuring the Don Callis Family’s Roppongi ReVice (Rocky Romero & Trent Beretta) issuing a challenge to Big Boom AJ to a tag team match at this November’s Full Gear 2025 event.
During the video, AJ and Big Justice talked about how this November will be the one year anniversary of AJ’s debut match in AEW. This led to Romero & Beretta showing up and after some words, Big Justice challenged them to a tag team match at Full Gear 2025. Romero responded back talking about them not getting tricked into doing something illegal and issued his own challenge for AJ to find a mystery partner instead for their tag match at Full Gear.
