Tony Khan Comments on “Now Is The Perfect Time To Introduce Women’s Tag Team Titles”

As noted before, the September 24th AEW Dynamite show featured the official announcement of new AEW Women’s Tag Team Championships for their Women’s division.

Forbes held a recent interview with AEW CEO Tony Khan. One of the topics discussed included Khan’s thoughts about the decision to introduce new tag team titles for AEW’s Women’s division.

“I’m very excited about the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship coming to AEW this year. Throughout 2025, the women’s division has been delivering more great matches and rivalries than ever before, and so many top stars have continued to emerge.

We’ve had amazing signings, like Mercedes Moné, who came in as a free agent and is now the TBS Champion, and if you look back a few years, Toni Storm joined AEW and went on to become one of our greatest champions. Along the way, we’ve added so many talented faces. Kris Statlander, who’s been here from the early years, has become a top star in her own right.

More recently, we’ve also seen the rise of some very interesting and very talented women’s tag teams. With the roster at its strongest, the highest quality it’s ever been, I think now is the perfect time to introduce the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championships. Women’s wrestling in AEW is the best it’s ever been, and these titles will make it even stronger.”

Jack Perry Comments on How Being With AEW Helped Him Deal With His Father’s Passing

TV Insider held a recent interview with Jack Perry. One of the topics discussed included Perry’s thoughts about how being with AEW at the time helped him deal with his father’s passing in 2019.

“It was the best thing to ever happen to me with the worst thing to ever happen to me. They kind of went hand-in-hand. It was an interesting time. I’m very grateful to have had this in my life and be a part of it with the people who have been there. I’m looking forward to the future.

I felt very lucky I had something I could pour my entire self into. I was already obsessed with wrestling before that happened, but when it happened, it was right at the same time AEW was taking off. It was like my childhood dream was coming true. It just gave me something I could escape into and at all times work towards being better at. Whether that was wrestling or just being in the gym, it gave me a place I could go and occupy my mind with. I felt very grateful for that because not a lot of people have that. It ended up being a very good support system as well. I had some friends already and met some of the best friends I have now. I just feel it was a real positive thing for me, especially during that time of my life.”
