AEW reportedly drew an attendance of 6,293 for their WrestleDream 2025 event on October 18th at the Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis, Missouri, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
In regards to the pay-per-view buys for the event, Dave Meltzer reported that he currently does not have an early estimates and data for the buys for WrestleDream due to issues that affected Comcast, Amazon Prime, and HBO MAX. Meltzer reported that those spoken to stated that they believe WrestleDream’s streaming buys will end up being similar to All Out 2025’s buys even with the issues affecting it.
Meltzer reported that Comcast had configured AEW’s event wrong in their system meaning that many people who typically purchase AEW PPVs from them were unable to purchase WrestleDream. Meltzer speculated that most would have ordered the show from another provider but this will still likely hurt the final buys number for WrestleDream.
Amazon Prime reportedly had a power failure issue on their internal rebroadcast system that night which caused outages in their system affecting both WrestleDream and other sports broadcasts that night. Meltzer reported that Amazon had a minor issue during the Mercedes Mone vs. Mina Shirakawa match and a major issue causing the signal to be lost early into the Darby Allin vs. Jon Moxley I Quit match. Amazon reportedly issued refunds to those who complained and also to those who were unable to access the event days later. Meltzer reported that this will also negatively affect the final number for WrestleDream’s buys.
In regards to HBO MAX, Meltzer reported that HBO MAX had a minor issue with the sound going off during the pre-show but this issue did not affect the TNT broadcast of it. This issue reportedly was fixed minutes later and did not affect the broadcast of WrestleDream itself.
