As noted before, Andrade El Idolo made his surprise return to AEW at the AEW Dynamite 6th Anniversary show earlier this month. Andrade attacked Kenny Omega and was revealed as the newest member of the Don Callis Family. Since that show, Andrade has been noticeably absent from AEW.
Fightful Select reported that their sources who had spoken directly with Andrade stating that he is currently in “good spirits” but did not provide any other details nor explanation for his current abscense from AEW. Besides his current abscense from AEW, Andrade was also recently pulled from his scheduled upcoming appearances for indies events.
It was reported that Andrade is indeed under contract with AEW.
It was also reported that things are “exceedingly quiet” in regards to Andrade’s current situation but one source familiar with the situation confirmed that his abscense does not appear to be the result of any issues between him and AEW. This same source reportedly also stated that Andrade’s current situation might not be the fault of either side and that unavoidable circumstances could be the contributing factor for his current absence from AEW programming.
It was also reported that as of the time of the publication of their report, there are still very few solid details regarding Andrade’s immediate future with AEW. Those close to the situation reportedly are keeping any information regarding Andrade’s status under wraps.
The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer reported that his sources also have not given him any real answers at all regarding Andrade’s absence from AEW. Bryan Alvarez reported that Andrade’s scheduled upcoming match against LA Park has been canceled for reasons unknown.
Meltzer reported that there are people who know the exact reason for Andrade’s abscense but when asked, they are not telling him and are keeping it quiet. Meltzer reported that Andrade is still scheduled to compete for World Wrestling Council this Saturday in Puerto Rico as of this past Tuesday. Meltzer reported that it is currently not known if Andrade will still be doing that show but it is something that should be known soon.
