Mickie James on “What I Was Able To Accomplish With The Last Rodeo Solidified Me”, Dixie Carter’s Husband Is Voice of ‘Hardcore Country’ Line in Her Entrance Song, Nick Aldis’ In-Ring Career Not Being Done Yet

A recent episode of the Insight with Chris Van Vliet podcast featured TNA Hall of Famer Mickie James as the guest.

One of the topics discussed included James’ thoughts about her feeling what she was able to accomplish with her “The Last Rodeo” run solidified her wrestling career.

“I think what I was able to accomplish with The Last Rodeo solidified me. It validated me. It vindicated me. My first WWE run, I was able to have some amazing moments, but I think it was cut short. I think I had a lot more to do in WWE and the timing and my own life, and professionally and personally, I needed to go away, I think.”

James’ also revealed that former TNA owner Dixie Carter’s husband Serg Salinas is the person who says the line “Hardcore Country” at the start of her “Hardcore Country” entrance theme song.

“Do you know who that is [in the intro]? Serg Salinas. Dixie Carter’s husband Serg Salinas, thank you, Serg. Thank you Dale Oliver, God, there’s 1000 thank yous in that speech I didn’t get to. We all sat down together and created, Dale and I wrote the song, created the song. And that is Serge hollering Hardcore Country.”

James also gave her thoughts about her praise for her husband Nick Aldis’ work as an on-screen General Manager character in WWE and her belief that Aldis is not done with his in-ring wrestling career.

“Oh my God, yes. Oh, he’s far from done. I mean, I think if he was ever given — and I would pray for like the perfect opportunity and story or whatever — but I think that if he’s ever given an opportunity to put on his boots and get out in that ring, I know it would be a dream come true for him, obviously.”

James also gave her thoughts about the potential of Aldis wrestling at a future WrestleMania event.

“It would be a dream come true. I don’t think you get into this business without dreaming of a WrestleMania moment. Or if you do, I don’t.”
