Jacob Fatu Dental Procedure & Return Plans Update
As noted before, Jacob Fatu recently suffered a non-wrestling-related injury that was later revealed to involve a dental procedure and him being expected to be out of action until this December. Fatu was written out of his scheduled match against Drew McIntyre at this past Friday’s WWE SmackDown show after Fatu was laid out and bloodied backstage from a mystery attacker.
The Wrestling Observer’s Bryan Alvarez reported that his sources provided an update stating that Fatu is currently expected to be medically cleared and make his in-ring return by next month’s Survivor Series WarGames 2025 weekend.
Blake Monroe Comments on Her NXT Character Being “Evolution” of Mariah May Character in AEW
TV Insider held a recent interview with Blake Monroe. One of the topics discussed included Monroe’s thoughts about her character in NXT being an evolution of her “The Glamour” Mariah May character in AEW.
“We talk about Mariah May, but Blake Monroe is continuing to evolve from the things I’ve already done. It’s not different. It’s not wiping something clean and starting again. It’s taking these parts of me and growing them and nurturing them.
As you saw my introduction was ‘The Glamour’ and was very big on that whole pop star vibe with my entrance and the vanity and all these incredible things. We’ve been able to evolve the character. Then you saw me at No Mercy in the steel cage match. You saw a different side of me. Someone who was a bit merciless and a bit unhinged. I think it has been so exciting to evolve something. I’m really proud of my journey, and this is the next chapter. I’m loving just getting so detailed with it. The creative team is so passionate about every part of what you do. I’m having a ball because I love those details and that presentation. I wouldn’t say there is too much difference. I would say it’s more of an evolution.”
Monroe also gave her thoughts about joining WWE and how she wanted to take what she had been doing with her character but “make it bigger” for her WWE career.
“It’s crazy to me because I’ve wanted to be in WWE since I was a little girl. It was my childhood dream. Typically, you don’t follow your childhood dream. You could want to be a firefighter. You could want to be an astronaut. A few do get to do it. But with wrestling, I’ve always tried to be open to what’s in front of me and give 110 percent. I’ve wrestled all over the world. The beautiful thing about wrestling is it’s so different. Actually arriving to WWE has been a surreal experience. I think timing is everything. I’m ready now to be here and in NXT. I think it’s how huge WWE is. How many resources there are.
For me, I loved my character in “The Glamour” when I spoke to WWE. They loved “The Glamour” too and recognized my work and what was important to me. They wanted to take that and make it bigger. My first vignette if you remember was me in a bath. That’s something I wanted to do for about a year. I always wanted to do that vignette. The very next week that’s what we did. Wrestling is different everywhere and very special, but in WWE it’s huge. There is so much access. I’m just trying to be a sponge and take everything in at the PC [Performance Center] and being around all these Hall of Famers and amazing writing and production team. I try to make the most of it all because I don’t take anything for granted. Just to be here is amazing.”
Summer Rae Comments on Potential WWE Return in Future
talkSPORT Boxing held a recent interview with Danielle Moinet, former Summer Rae in WWE. One of the topics discussed included Moinet’s thoughts about how her background with WWE helps in her new role as an interviewer and social media team member for Bare Knuckle Boxing.
“My role with the company, I do backstage interviews, in-ring interviews. I do a lot of social media for them and it works out coming with my WWE background and background in combat sports. My fans love it and it’s been fun getting to know the game.”
Moinet also gave her thoughts about her interest in a potential return to WWE in the future.
“I’m still very good friends with a lot of the girls and a lot of the guys in WWE, and I still watch it avidly. I’m such a big fan, and it’s just a part of me, it always will be. And you know, I get the itch to go back all the time.”
Moinet also gave her thoughts about who she enjoyed working with the most during her time in WWE.
“Loved working with Natalya. Of course, we had a big rivalry with Total Divas and though she is Bret Hart’s niece, she says to this day, people talk about me and the slap heard around the world. So, that’s fun. I’m still friends with Sasha, Mercedes, she’s been killing it. Naomi, of course. You know, the list goes on. I love The Big Show. The Big Show is just amazing. He took me under his wing when I first started.”
