Matt Hardy Comments on Broken Rules Match for NXT Tag Titles at NXT Halloween Havoc 2025 Will Not Be Cinematic Match

This Saturday’s WWE NXT Halloween Havoc 2025 event at the Findlay Toyota Center in Prescott Valley, Arizona will be featuring The Hardy Boyz (Broken Matt & Brother Nero) defending their NXT Tag Team Championship against DarkState (Dion Lennox, Cutler James, Saquon Shugars, and/or Osiris Griffin) in a Broken Rules match.

In a recent episode of the Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast, co-host Matt Hardy gave his thoughts about what a Broken Rules match is in wrestling.

“A Broken Rules Match is basically a match with no rules. Anything goes, anything can be used, we can fight all over the building. The standard rules in a pro wrestling match are broken.”

In response to a question from co-host Jon Alba about if this match will be a cinematic match or a match held in the arena, Hardy stated:

“It’s going to be a real match in the arena.”

Piper Niven Neck Injury Status Update

As noted before, Piper Niven has been out of action for WWE since this past August due to a undisclosed injury that is currently believed to be a neck injury.

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported in a recent Q&A article that the last he heard from his sources, both Niven and WWE officials were trying to determine the best course of action for the treatment for a neck issue.

Johnson reported that Niven’s injury situation is something that should not be rushed and brought up Kevin Owens’ neck situation as something that takes time to get that diagnosis for the severity of it.

Noam Dar Undisclosed Injury Status Update

As noted before, Noam Dar has been out of action for WWE’s NXT brand since this past June due to an undisclosed injury.

A recent episode of The A2theK Wrestling Show podcast featured Dar’s significant other and indies wrestler Aleah James as the guest. One of the topics discussed included James providing an update on Dar’s recovery from his injury.

“Yeah, it’s going along really well. Getting stronger and being able to do more and more. So, it’s just looking for that return. We’re ready, we’re waiting. He’s gonna be better and stronger than ever so, we’re looking forward to that.”

Former WWE Writer Nick Manfredini Claims Charles Manson Wanted To Meet Bray Wyatt & WWE “Immediately” Shut Idea Down

A recent episode of the Wrestling With Freddie podcast featured former WWE writer Nick Manfredini as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Manfredini claiming that infamous criminal and Manson Family cult leader Charles Manson once wanted to meet Bray Wyatt and how WWE immediately shut that idea down.

“So, he was very Charles Manson-inspired, right? My YouTube search history back then was just Charles Manson and cult leader for anybody who looked it up. So I’ve probably seen every Charles Manson quote, every video, every promo that he ever cut. We were trying to take little pieces from each one, and that was the style we wanted to go for. To get off topic, Charles Manson — I don’t know if this story has ever been told — Windham’s teammate, former teammate in college football, became a prison guard at Charles Manson’s prison. Allegedly, this guy showed Manson the Bray Wyatt promos, and he wanted to meet him, and this was a whole thing. I swear. It is 100 percent true, and so, Mike Rotunda knew about it, and I think he brought it up to somebody. I don’t know if it was Hunter or Vince (McMahon) or someone and they immediately squashed it. Obviously, that’s terrible… Because they were like, ‘Can we shoot a Network special with Charles Manson?’ It was immediately squashed, and then afterwards, I was like, ‘Let’s just go. Next time we’re in Northern California, me and you, let’s just put on a hat or something. Nobody will know it’s you. Let’s just go meet him.’ I thought more about it and obviously it was a terrible, terrible idea. Would have been a good story but, a bad idea… It was like, wait a minute, this would be so fun — weird to do. But, obviously, Bray Wyatt probably would have never seen TV again if we did that.”
