As noted before, Chris Jericho’s contract with AEW is currently set to expire by the end of 2025 and he has been absent from the company since this past April. During his time away, Jericho had reached out to WWE about a potential return to the company once his contract with AEW expires.
A recent episode of the Talk Is Jericho podcast featured The Hardys (Matt & Jeff Hardy) and The Dudleyz (Bubba Ray & D-Von Dudley) as the guests. One of the topics discussed included co-host Jericho’s thoughts about his praise of the Hardys and Dudleyz’s Tables match for the TNA World Tag Team and WWE NXT Tag Team Championships at TNA’s Bound For Glory 2025 event this past October. Jericho also gave his thoughts about his belief that TNA looked like the second biggest promotion that night compared to AEW’s shows at the ECW Arena (2300 Arena).
“I don’t think I’ve watched an Impact — sorry, a TNA — match in ages, if not this decade at all. I was so impressed. Well, first of all, you guys had a match. I didn’t even — it wasn’t even the match. It was the beginning part before you guys even locked up. It was the end part after it happened. Like that, I’m getting little goosebumps. That’s pro wrestling in its ultimate form. That’s all that matters is that emotion and that reaction.
That was one thing. Two, that f*cking crowd looked huge. It looked huge. It was like a WWE-level crowd. The place was packed. I was watching this, and not saying anything out of school here, but comparing it to watching Dynamite when they were at the ECW Arena, which looked like a Tony Condello taping. Sorry, it did. TNA looked like the second biggest company in the world, you know, and that was amazing. And the presentation was amazing.”
