Mercedes Mone Tops Black Wrecellence 500 List for 2025

Fightful’s Righteous Reg recently announced that Mercedes Mone took the top spot for this year’s Black Wrecellence 500 list. This list honors and celebrates the top 500 black wrestlers around the world.

This was the first time in Mone’s career that she was ranked as the Black Wrecellence’s top wrestler.

AEW had the most wrestlers ranked in Top 10 at five, followed by WWE at three, and TNA Wrestling and Revolution Pro Wrestling at one each.

Abdullah The Butcher Hospitalization Update

As noted before, deathmatch wrestling legend and WWE Hall of Famer Abdullah The Butcher has been hospitalized since last week due to serious health issues that were later revealed to be him suffering two strokes.

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that those close to Abdullah stated that his condition has improved over this past week.

Those spoken to reportedly stated that Abdullah was in a car with someone on October 18th and his speech started slurring. Abudullah reportedly was taken to the hospital and was diagnosed with a stroke. Meltzer reported that Abdullah had suffered a second stroke some time afterwards.

Abdullah’s caretaker reportedly stated that doctors had told her that he wasn’t going to die from his strokes. Abdullah reportedly can’t control his left arm and has issues with his left leg as of Friday but his speech is starting to improve.

Saturday’s NJPW Super Junior Tag League 2025 event in Osaka, Japan featured BULLET CLUB War Dogs (Robbie X & Taiji Ishimori) defeating Ichiban Sweet Boys (Kosei Fujita & Robbie Eagles) to become the winners of this year’s B Block. Robbies X and Ishimori topped the group with a record of 4-1 for 8 points and held the tiebreaker over Ichiban Sweet Boys, who also ended with 8 points.

NJPW reportedly drew a paid attendance of 1,058 for their Oct. 24th Super Junior Tag League 2025 event in Tokyo, 1,093 for their Oct. 25th Super Junior Tag League 2025 event in Kumagaya, 1,203 for their Oct. 26th Super Junior Tag League 2025 event in Uonuma, 589 for their Oct. 28th Super Junior Tag League 2025 event in Sado, 1,001 for their Oct. 29th Super Junior Tag League 2025 event in Shibata, and 708 for their Oct. 30th Super Junior Tag League 2025 event in Shibata, Japan, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Friday’s CMLL Super Viernes event at the Arena Mexico in Mexico City, Mexico featured Guerrero Maya Jr. defeating Difunto, Adrenalina, and Villano III Jr. in a Four-way match to become the winner of this year’s Rey del Inframundo tournament.

CMLL reportedly drew an attendance of around 13,000 for their Oct. 24th Women’s Grand Prix 2025 event at the Arena Mexico in Mexico City, Mexico, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Dave Meltzer reported that this year’s event attendance is believed to have been the largest ever for a Women’s Grand Prix event in CMLL history.

Lucha Libre AAA reportedly drew an attendance of over 5,000 for their Oct. 25th Heroes Inmortales 2025 event in Mexico City, Mexico, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Stardom reportedly drew a paid attendance of 535 for their Oct. 26th event in Fuji, 1,220 for their Oct. 27th Nighter in Korakuen event in Tokyo, and 239 for their New Blood 26 event in Tokyo, Japan, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Marigold reportedly drew a paid attendance of 3,540 for their Oct. 26th Grand Destiny 2025 event in Tokyo, Japan, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. This event was notable for WWE’s IYO SKY making a return appearance and competing in a singles match against Mayu Iwatani.

Marigold announced that Utami Hayashishita, Mai Sakurai, and Komomo Minami recently suffered injuries and will be out of action for the company for the foreseeable future.

Olympic gold medalist and former WWE wrestler Gable Steveson won his debut boxing match against Billy Swanson at this past Thursday’s boxing event for Dirty Boxing Championship in Nashville, Tennessee. Steveson won via knockout in 13 seconds of the first round.

Memphis Wrestling recently announced that WWE Hall of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler will be making an appearance for the company at their Christmas With The King event on November 23rd in Memphis, Tennessee.

This past Thursday’s NHL game between the Dallas Stars and Tampa Bay Lightning in Tampa, Florida featured WWE’s Kevin Owens and AEW’s Chris Jericho being in attendance in the crowd.
