Backstage Update on Identity of Mystery Person at Survivor Series WarGames
As noted before, Saturday’s WWE WarGames 2025 event at Petco Park in San Diego, California featured a mystery masked hooded person making a surprise appearance and interfered in the Men’s WarGames match. This mystery person attacked WWE World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk and laid him out using a curb stomp move similar to Seth Rollins before leaving the cage.
PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that Austin Theory was the identity of the mystery person. Johnson reported that those spoken to stated that Theory was in attendance backstage at the show and WWE officials had planned for him to get involved in the match.
Fightful Select reported that their sources also confirmed that Theory was the mystery person.
Triple H Comments on Roman Reigns “Transcends The World Title And Royal Rumble”
Saturday’s WWE Survivor Series WarGames 2025 post-show featured WWE CCO Paul “Triple H” Levesque as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Levesque’s thoughts about Roman Reigns feeling larger than life when he made his entrance during the Men’s WarGames match.
“He’s almost transcended to a point in the business where he’s bigger than the championship. He’s bigger than being a world champion. He is just a legend unto himself. I used to think that about Taker all the time. He just transcended the business in a way that you didn’t even need to talk about him in the title picture because he was epically in that circle. That is where Roman Reigns is right now. There is an aura about him and just something different.”
Levesque also gave his thoughts about if the show closing confrontation angle between Reigns, WWE World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk, and Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes after the match was meant to be a teaser for the future and WrestleMania 42.
“When you have a star the size of Roman Reigns, he transcends the world title, he transcends the Royal Rumble, he transcends the Elimination Chamber. Does he really need to qualify or does he just call his shot? That’s a decision that we here in the WWE need to make very shortly. I have a feeling that one of those two guys, CM Punk or Cody Rhodes, is on a collision course with Roman Reigns. It’s going to be interesting to see where that goes.”
