John Cena Reportedly “Very High” on Je’Von Evans as Future Big Star for WWE
Monday’s WWE RAW show at Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York featured Gunther defeating Je’Von Evans in a First Round match for WWE’s The Last Time Is Now Tournament. Evans’ inclusion in the tournament was notable for him being the only representative from WWE’s NXT brand.
Bryan Alvarez reported in a recent episode of the Wrestling Observer Radio that his sources stated that John Cena has a “very, very high” view of Evans as a potential future big star for WWE.
Cena’s current high view of Evans’ star potential for WWE reportedly stemmed from his recent visit to WWE’s Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.
Besides Cena, Sheamus recently praised Evans after a match they had together at a NXT house show event last week in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Dominik Mysterio Comments on Cody Rhodes Calling Him Future of WWE & His Recent Work with John Cena
A recent episode of ESPN’s First Take show featured Dominik Mysterio as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Mysterio’s thoughts about the recent comments Cody Rhodes made during an interview with the All The Smoke podcast calling him the future of WWE.
“Man, I feel like I’m just getting started. I started during the pandemic in 2020. Most of my — the first half of my career, I had no fans [in attendance]. Now leading into this, now we get crowd reactions. So, for me, I live off of that.
Being able to, you know, like you said, future of the WWE and hearing Cody say that. Cody’s like that big brother that goes off to college and you don’t really see him every now and then, but you get excited when he comes back into town. You want that stamp of approval from him, you know? So it’s really cool to hear that from him. And it’s a blessing, man. I’m just fortunate to be able to do my thing.”
Mysterio also gave his thoughts about his recent work with John Cena and getting to be involved in three of Cena’s last four matches for his wrestling career in WWE.
“You know, it’s a huge blessing for me to able to get three out of his last four matches in the WWE. Was able to wrestle him at the TD Garden, got to wrestle him in Madison Square Garden, and finish it off at Petco Park.
So, for me, it’s a huge honor. He’s one of the best to ever do it — if not the best to ever do it in this business. Everything we do, we base it off of John Cena. He’s the golden boy for the WWE. For me, I’m excited to put the final nail in his coffin.”
