Ricochet on AEW National Title Win Being One of Most Important Ones In His Wrestling Career

The Sportster held a recent interview with AEW National Champion Ricochet. One of the topics discussed included Ricochet’s thoughts about his AEW National title victory at this past November’s AEW Full Gear 2025 being one of the most important championship victories in his wrestling career.

“It’s kind of hard to explain, but I mean, for me, I guess it would be the fact that doing this and it’s so late in my career, past two decades, I’ve been doing this over and over. So to still be able to perform and to still be able to compete at the level that I have been is honestly amazing, and everyone should be clapping for me. But it’s just cool to show that it doesn’t stop. And this one, again, at this point of my career, to be an inaugural champion once again at another prominent company, it’s a big deal. But again, just like before, it’s on me now to set the legacy of the title, to set the prestige, to set the tone of what the title is going to mean. So that actually means a lot to me too. So I think this is definitely one of the more important ones of my career simply because of like how late and like everything that the past couple of years and everything that’s kind of led to this point. I think, you know, it was necessary. It was necessary.”

AEW Full Gear 2025 PPV Buys Update

As noted before, AEW was estimated to gave generated around 135,000 to 140,000 pay-per-views for their Full Gear 2025 event on November 22nd at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Full Gear is currently estimated to have generated around 140,000 buys based on updated data and late buys purchases.

Meltzer reported that Full Gear’s buys were up across the board in general compared to expectations and this past October’s WrestleDream 2025 event. Meltzer also reported that Full Gear’s buys from HBO MAX were the highest for an AEW event on the service since AEW started airing their events live on it.
