David Finlay reportedly is currently expected to explore free agency once his current contract with New Japan Pro Wrestling, according to Fightful Select.
It was reported that their sources stated that Finlay’s contract is currently set to expire within the near future and he is expected to to explore his options including promotions in the United States due to “interest from companies.”
In regards to NJPW, it was reported that Finlay is currently expected to work some additional dates for NJPW after next weekend’s Wrestle Kingdom 20 event. Finlay is currently scheduled to compete in a 10-Man Tag Team match with Shingo Takagi, Gabe Kidd, Drilla Moloney, & Hiromu Takahashi against United Empire on the show.
Finlay has been signed with NJPW since 2015. Finlay’s younger brother Brogan currently works in WWE’s NXT brand under the ring name of Uriah Connors. Finlay’s father Fit Finlay has been working in WWE since 2001, first as a talent and currently as a coach and trainer.
