Netflix recently signed new mutli-year deals with Barstool Sports and iHeartMedia to bring several top podcast series from those companies to their service. These new deals are for the video versions of those podcasts to become exclusive to Netflix subscribers while the audio versions would remain free to listen elsewhere.
Front Row Sports reported that their sources stated that Netflix is currently considering having WWE to be part of their new podcast initiative.
Those spoken to reportedly stated that Fanatics has had recent discussions with Netflix regarding WWE being part of this initiative. WWE and Fanatics are currently partnered together for a WWE-based podcast network that includes “Six Feet Under” with The Undertaker & Michelle McCool, “What Do You Wanna Talk About?” with Cody Rhodes, and “What’s Your Story?” with Stephanie McMahon.
It was reported that it is currently not known if Fanatics has pitched its existing shows or new ones to Netflix but those spoken to stated that Fanatics and WWE currently have plans to expand their partnership with more content offering in the future. Those spoken to reportedly also stated that Fanatics and WWE have recently vetted talent for new programming as part of this plan.
Netflix is currently the broadcast home of WWE RAW in the United States and broadcast home of WWE programming and PLEs internationally.
