Update on WWE Library Status After Peacock Deal Expires in 2026

WWE’s media rights deal with Peacock for their WWE library in the United States is currently set to expire at the start of 2026. WWE recently signed a new media rights deal with ESPN to air their PLEs on ESPN’s new streaming service and had signed a new media rights deal last year with Netflix to air WWE RAW on their service for the U.S.

Fightful Select reported that their sources within WWE stated that the current belief is that most of the company’s library will be slowly rolled out on WWE’s various YouTube channels. Those spoken to reportedly brought up how WWE already has a very large footpront with YouTube and with a steady revenue stream from their existing vault channels. WWE executives reportedly currently view the YouTube model as both financially sound and fan-development friendly.

Longtime WWE personnel spoken to reportedly stated that old footage is no longer a “needle-mover” that the fans think it is for the company now that it will no longer be bundled with PLEs and Saturday Night’s Main Event. Another source spoken to reportedly described the WWE video library as a “nice boost” and a major attraction initially but not something that would command a standalone premium rights deal in today’s streaming service market.

Another source spoken to reportedly stated that if an offer for the WWE library from an outside company comes which is compelling enough, WWE would certainly consider making a deal for it. This same source reportedly stated that WWE uploading library content to YouTube is something that is expected to continue either way.
