In a recent episode of the Wrestling Observer Live, co-host and TNA producer Lance Storm gave his thoughts about TNA’s current plans for their taping schedule for Impact! shows when they move to AMC. Storm stated “I didn’t get anything pinned down other than it won’t be every week. I suspect, long-term, it will greatly depend on if the taped shows do as well as the live shows and if they do, then they’re won’t be a panic to go live every week. If the live shows do a lot better, I would imagine that would be the direction they want to go. You need to go live enough to where the fans get the impression that it’s a live show. Once they sort of have that feeling that they are live shows, you can actually have quite a few of them taped and nobody notices.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
The family of the late ECW legend Balls Mahoney, real name Jonathan Rechner, recently launched a GoFundMe fundraiser to help financially assist the family with the costs for finding a new home. It was stated “Almost 10 years ago, the world lost a wrestling icon and celebrity, Jon Rechner—known to fans as Balls Mahoney, and celebrated for his time in WWF, WWE, and ECW. But for Gayle and her son Chris, that day meant losing a loving partner and father. Since then, Gayle has shown incredible strength, raising Chris on her own despite facing enormous challenges. After an accident left her disabled and reliant on a wheelchair, Gayle has continued to fight for her disability benefits while caring for Chris, who is now a high school senior at the top of his class and preparing for college next fall.Despite Gayle’s determination and Chris’s achievements, the family’s situation has become urgent. They are now facing eviction from Chris’s childhood home, with only a few days’ notice to leave. With no money to move and nowhere to go, Gayle and Chris are at risk of homelessness at a time when Chris is finishing his senior year and looking forward to graduation. To make matters even more difficult, this crisis is happening during the holidays—a time that should be filled with hope and togetherness, not fear and uncertainty. The stress and uncertainty are overwhelming, but Gayle’s love for her son and her hope for his future remain strong. We are starting this GoFundMe to help Gayle and Chris cover moving expenses and secure a new home. If you knew Jon, were touched by his career, or simply want to help a family in need, your support will make a real difference. Please consider donating or sharing their story to help them find stability and hope during this critical time.“
