Backstage Reaction Within RevPro, wXw, & TNA Over Leon Slater Working Dec. 13th WWE SNME Show
As noted before, current TNA X-Division Champion Leon Slater was recently pulled from this upcoming events this weekend for Revolution Pro Wrestling and Westside Xtreme Wrestling. This quickly led to online speculation of Slater being booked for WWE’s Saturday Night’s Main Event show on December 13th in Washington, D.C., which was confirmed by WWE during this past Monday’s WWE RAW show. Slater is currently scheduled to team up with NXT talent Je’Von Evans in a tag team match against AJ Styles & Dragon Lee at WWE’s upcoming event.
Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp reported that his sources stated that neither RevPro nor wXw were informed beforehand that Slater would be working for WWE this weekend until it was announced at this past Monday’s WWE RAW show.
Those spoken to within wXw reportedly stated that their booking for Slater had been worked out with him back in this past March. Those same sources spoken to reportedly also stated that while they expected Slater’s recent scheduling issues had something to do with WWE, they would have preferred that WWE would have been the ones to give them the heads up about this beforehand.
In regards to the general reaction within TNA, those spoken to in the company reportedly had a positive things to say about Slater’s upcoming WWE appearance. Those same sources reportedly also stated that they believe it is another great example of the partnership between the two companies continuing.

TNA Wrestling announced one new match for the card of this Thursday’s TNA Impact! show on AXS TV and Sportsnet 360.
This new match announced was a Steel Cage match of Team TNA (The Hardys (Matt & Jeff Hardy), Mike Santana, Steve Maclin, & Matt Cardona) vs. Team TNA (Lexis King, Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo, Brooks Jensen, & The High Ryze (Tyson Dupont & Triek Igwe).

Wednesday’s NJPW World Tag League 2025 event in Nagasaki, Japan featured TMDK (Ryohei Oiwa & Zack Sabre Jr.) defeating Bishamon (YOSHI-HASHI & Hirooki Goto) in a Semifinal Round match. As a result of their victory, TMDK will be facing off against the winner of Yota Tsuji & Gabe Kidd vs. Knockout Brothers (OSKAR & Yuto-Ice) in the Finals of this year’s World Tag League 2025 tournament.
Athena reached the milestone of three years for her current reign as ROH Women’s World Champion as of Wednesday. Since winning the title in December 10, 2022, Athena has successfully defended her title 33 times.
Former WWE talent Scarlett, also known as Scarlett Bordeux in the indies, filed a trademark for her ring name “Scarlett” on December 8th for wrestling and entertainment-related purposes to the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
WrestleCon recently announced that Don Muraco, Spike Dudley, D-Von Dudley, and Bubba Ray Dudley will be making an appearance for the company at their WrestleCon Las Vegas convention on April 16-19, 2026 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Major League Wrestling recently announced that Alex Hammerstone and Karl Anderson are the first two official competitors for next year’s Battle Riot match at their Battle Riot VIII event on January 29, 2026 in Kissimmee, Florida.
CMLL recently announced that they have pulled Neon from all of their events this week due to him recently suffering an undisclosed injury.
DDT Pro Wrestling recently announced that Konosuke Takeshita will be making an appearance for the company at their January 3, 2026 event in Tokyo, Japan.
West Coast Pro Wrestling announced that they have recently signed a new partnership deal with ACTION Wrestling.
TNA Wrestling recently announced that TNA commentators Tom Hannifan and Matthew Rehwoldt were the recipants of their TNA All Stars award for this past weekend’s Final Resolution 2025 event and Impact! tapings in El Paso, Texas. It was also announced that a bonus TNA All Stars award was given to Riley for being an “essential part of TNA behind the scenes.”
Jersey Championship Wrestling recently announced that Tiger Mask will be making his official debut appearance for the company and is the next official entrant for next year’s Jersey J-Cup tournament on February 6-7, 2026 in Jersey City, New Jersey.
