Andrade El Idolo vs. Serpentico

Commentary welcomes us to the show as Andrade El Idolo makes his way out for our opening contest. Already in the ring is Angelico, which gives me an indication of how things are gonna go as this match gets underway!

Angelico goes after Andrade, who elbows him to send Angelico to th corner. El Idolo follows with a running Meteora of sorts in the corner, sandwiching the Spanish Announce Project member into the turnbuckle before going for a cover…only to pick him up after two!

He tells the crowd to stay “tranquilo” before continuing to work over Angelico. Vertical suplex and El Idolo looks to finish the Three Amigos, but Angelico breaks free to get a nearfall. Andrade fights back, sending Angelico into the corner before running into a boot…but El Idolo responds with a kick of his own to set up for a superplex!

He follows with another vertical suplex before rounding out the Three Amigos…once again bringing Angelico up after a two count. Angelico fights back with a kick, but takes a back elbow before El Idolo finally brings things to a halt with a lifting neckbreaker he calls the DM for the win.

Winner: Andrade El Idolo via Pinfall.

Backstage: The Rascalz

Backstage we get our first look at AEW’s newest signings, The Rascalz. A bit of a haze comes out of the dressing room as Myron Reed, Zachary Wentz, and Desmond Xavier talk about AEW being where the best wrestle. They’re not here to take part, they’re here to take over. You bring the best, and they will smoke them…smoke ’em if you got ’em. They ask Lexy if she wants to join but she says she’s working, and we cut away as I try to take a look at what AEW’s wellness policy looks like.

Video: Eddie Kingston, Ortiz, Grizzled Young Veterans

Video Package: Ortiz returns to AEW to help out his old pal Eddie Kingston, and the pair are set to face the Grizzled Young Veterans tonight on Collision!

Grizzled Young Veterans (James Drake & Zack Gibson) vs. Eddie Kingston & Ortiz

Ortiz and Gibson start things off, though Drake quickly makes a tag to double-team Ortiz until things spill to the outside. When it returns to the ring it’s Ortiz who takes control enough to make the tag to Kingston, who lays into Drake before setting up for a double-team as Ortiz runs the ropes over and over before landing a dropkick off a tag.

Ortiz works over the arm of Drake before tagging Eddie back in, but James forces the former ROH World Champion to the corner for a tag to Gibson, and the GYV take Kingston to his limit before Drake tags back in to send Eddie to the corner…but Kingston dodges a running attack from Drake, and we get tags to both Ortiz and Gibson!

The two trade strikes before Gibson sends Ortiz to the mat, and Drake runs in for an assist. They knock Kingston to the floor before Gibson sends Ortiz to the outside, with Drake holding him up for a dive by Zack as we go to ad break.

Back from break, Drake is still in control as he brings Ortiz to his feet…but Ortiz sets him up for a Northern Lights suplex and a two count! Ortiz crawls over for a tag, fighting off Drake who responds with a dragon screw. Tag to Gibson as the pair stomp away at Ortiz.

Gibson goes for a suplex but is sent down hard with a hurricanrana by Ortiz, who is kept away from a tag as Drake tags in to grab his leg. Ortiz fights him off as Drake goes after Kingston, only to take a right hand followed by a thrust kick by Ortiz…and this is enough for Kingston to get the tag!

He yells at Drake to get up and fight him, the two trading strikes before Eddie sends James to the mat with a hard chop. Drake heads to the corner but Kingston lays into him some more before fending off Gibson. Tag to Ortiz, who hoists James up for a powerbomb that gets a nearfall. Tag to Kingston and the duo look for a Doomsday Device, but Ortiz sent to the floor by Gibson who then gets the tag.

Gibson goes after Eddie with forearm strikes, but the inaugural Continental Champion gives as good as he receives before taking Zack for a ride with an exploder suplex. Gibson distracts the ref as Drake tries to choke Kingston with a scarf, but is fended off by Kingston who gets nailed with the Ticket to Ride. Cover by Gibson, but it’s only good for two.

Tag to Drake, who locks in a submission hold as Gibson stomps him some more before holding off Ortiz, who brings him to the outside before breaking free. Back in the ring, the ref checks the arm of Kingston. Once and it goes down, twice and it goes down again…but the third time it stays up, showing that Kingston is still in this!

He manages to break free of the hold, and Drake tries to roll him up before Kingston sends him to the ropes. We see Ortiz attack James in the head with…something (I’ll look this up) out of the ref’s vision, and this allows Kingston to pick up the win off a DDT.

Winner: Eddie Kingston & Ortiz via Pinfall.

Video: Kris Statlander, Babes With Wrath

We get a promo from after Maximum Carnage Dynamite, where Statlander and the Babes of Wrath address their loss on Wednesday night. Stat says what Thekla calls toxic, Kris thinks she likes the taste of.

On Stage: FTR, Stokely Hathaway

Back at ringside, Tony Schiavone is on the stage to welcome FTR and Stokely. The trio get boos as they come out, with Stoke in a wheelchair. Schiavone talks to FTR about their next contenders in Mark Davis and Jake Doyle. Stokely is handed the mic, and he has nothing bad to say about the Don Callis Family.

He congratulates the pair, and admits that he is jealous of both men. The pair have the it factor and look like pro wrestlers, and that is one thing that is missing in pro wrestling. They have a lot, except what it takes to beat the greatest tag team in wrestling today, FTR. Cash takes the mic and says that Sports Illustrated and ESPN know that they’re the greatest tag team in wrestling today. He says that “Jake something…Jake Doyle?” and Mark Davis are good, but they’re not good enough to beat FTR.

Dax insists on Schiavone holding the mic as he addresses Nigel before asking Tony to ask him what he hates about these people. The crowd chants “we have hair” as Dax says he hates how these people love the new and shiny things that appear, like the pair that get tagged up for the first time and because they win ONE match, they get a title shot.

Dax says people like the pair of them were the norm for them in their years in this business, and that they’re in the presence of the greatest of all time. Just like all these people, you live your lives begging to be FTR, but there is only one and you will find out that there is only one. Top guys…out.

Backstage, we hear from CRU as they address the arrival of The Rascalz. They lay out the challenge for a match to welcome them to AEW properly.

Zayda Steel vs. Marina Shafir

We head back to ringside as Zayda Steel makes her entrance for our next match. A video package highlights the former prospect ahead of tonight’s bout. Back at ringside, Marina Shafir makes her way through the crowd to get this match underway!

Shafir fends off an early attack from Zayda before heading out of the ring. Steel goes for a dive but gets caught by The Problem, and this leads to an exchange of strikes before Shafir comes back into the ring. Steel goes up top but Shafir dodges the attack, landing a foot in the face of Zayda to take her to the mat. She takes Steel to the corner as we hear Mox telling Marina to “make her pay” before we go to ad break.

Back from break, Steel manages to fight back with a back elbow before sending Marina to the corner for a rising knee strike…only for Shafir to fire back with a throw sending Zayda down hard. Marina continues to go to work on Steel before the prospect starts fighting back…only to be whipped into Mother’s Milk for the win!

Winner: Marina Shafir via Submission.

Ringside: Don Callis Family, Don Callis, Jon Moxley, Death Riders, SkyFlight

Marina is riled up as she celebrates, seemingly calling out anyone from the crowd who wants to go after her next as Kyle Fletcher makes his entrance alongside El Clon and Josh Alexander. The three are set for trios action as Don Callis joins commentary while his charges head to the ring for our next match.

Don and Jon are getting into it a little bit on the call, as Kyle’s music loops back around making me wondering where in the world are the opponents. Mox really gets riled up at the mention of Takeshita and Fletcher, and Mox essentially scares off Callis from the booth before taking his own headset off to head toward the ring…where he gets blindsided by Lance Archer and Rocky Romero!

They get into it as the Death Riders come running down to even the numbers, and the two factions are firmly at war with each other around ringside as we see SkyFlight rushing down to get involved as we go to commercial break.

Trios Match
Don Callis Family (Josh Alexander, El Clon, & Kyle Fletcher) vs. SkyFlight (Scorpio Sky & Top Flight (Darius & Dante Martin))

Back from break the bell rings to finally get this trios match underway!

Sky Flight have the advantage as they go after Fletcher’s arm, tags going in and out until Darius goes to work on wrenching Fletcher’s arm some more. Tag to Scorpio Sky, but Kyle fights back with a body slam and a tag to Clon.

Clon gets some good shots in on Sky before tagging in Alexander, and the Walking Weapon lays in a few shots before Scorpio fights back. Tag made to Darius, who catches Josh with a Spanish Fly before taking Fletcher out on the outside with a dive. Cover by Darius, but it’s only good for two.

Tag made to Dante, and Top Flight double-team allowing for a nearfall from Dante. Darius tags back in but a Fletcher interference helps put things to a stop when Clon tags back in. Few shots from Clon leads to a body slam from Fletcher and a double stomp from the corrupted luchador. Clon continues the attack on Darius, and Fletcher tags in for even more damage leading to a big slam.

He fights off the rest of Sky Flight from the apron as we go to ad break.

Back from break, Darius lays into Josh with some chops before being sent to the ropes, where Alexander looks for an ankle lock. Darius breaks free with an enziguri before Fletcher tags in, only to get caught by a Darius suplex. Tag made to Dante and to El Clon as well, the two going at it with Dante escaping the corner before taking Clon down for a cross body and a two count. Clon blocks a half nelson for a kick, and a knee strikes gets him back in the swing of things for a Pele kick of sorts.

Tag made back to Fletcher, who clears off the apron before landing a running kick in the corner. Scorpio helps block a sheer drop brainbuster and Sky Flight have Fletcher cornered for a triple team. Double flatliner gets a two count before the Family breaks it up.

Sky gets neutralized on the apron by Alexander, and Clon catches Dante with a clothesline and a moonsault. Back in the ring, Darius takes down Fletcher but is left alone as Alexander tags back in. He takes a couple chops but fights back with an ankle lock…but manages to send Josh into the corner to break the hold. He goes up top but gets caught by Alexander, who lands a backbreaker and a trapped arm piledriver for the win.

Winner: Don Callis Family via Pinfall.

The trio celebrate with Callis until Konosuke Takeshita makes his way out to the ring. Callis is happy to see the former IWGP Champion, but Takeshita makes a beeline to Fletcher to shake hands with him before the group raises each other’s arms to stand tall.

Backstage: Orange Cassidy, Roderick Strong, Mark Briscoe

Backstage, we hear from Roderick Strong and Orange Cassidy. Roderick promises to beat Claudio to win the CMLL World Title, but doesn’t want to high five Cassidy. Briscoe keeps him from walking away as he wants to make sure they all conglomerate together. Mark has his sights set on El Clon, the man he blames for Hologram not being with us right now.

Briscoe puts out the challenge to Clon to defend the TNT Championship next week on Collision, and afterward they will conglomerate together. He leads an attempt to say their “catchphrase” together before we head to commercial break.

We hear from MJF who calls himself a traveling champion, as he looks to make his second reign as World Champion even better than his first.

Megan Bayne & Penelope Ford vs. Viva Van & Daniella Kamela

Back at ringside, Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford make their entrance for our next match in what is Ford’s return to the ring. Already in the ring are Viva Van and Danielle Kamela, formerly known as Vanessa Bourne. With that, this match gets underway!

Things break down quickly as we start off with Bayne and Kamela, though Van is brought in as well as the Megasus goes to work on both opponents before slamming them both to the mat. Van gets sent to the outside before a tag is made to Ford for a Doomsday Device to bring this match to a swift end.

Winner: Megan Bayne & Penelope Ford via Pinfall.

There is no time for celebration as the Timeless Love Bombs make their way out, cutting a promo to run down Bayne, Ford, and Shafir. I dunno if I can repeat even half of what was said here, so…

Backstage: Swerve Strickland, Prince Nana, Kevin Knight

We cut backstage, where Swerve is asked what he’s doing to get back into the title scene. The plan is simple…win. Kevin Knight wants to have a chat with the former World Champion, who tells Kevin to go win something of value and we’ll have a conversation. He stands by what he said about Kevin before, that he’s the future of this business, and he’s a main eventer…just don’t take five to six years to get there. He walks off, and Collision rolls on.

AEW National Championship #1 Contender Match
Jungle Jack Perry vs. Anthony Bowens

Back at ringside, Ricochet makes his way to the announce table to keep an eye on our next match. Out first is “Jungle” Jack Perry, who briefly confronts Ricochet before heading to the ring to a nice pop. Anthony Bowens makes his entrance next, also confronting the National Championship before heading to the ring to get this match underway!

The two go at it with Perry being sent to the corner. He fights back before Bowens sends him to the mat with a snapmare for a two count. Bowens mocks him, invoking his friend Billy Gunn before going back to work on the former Jungle Boy. They hit the ropes and fight off hip tosses before Perry drops Anthony for two. Bowens fights back and gets a one count, leading to a standoff between them.

Perry offers a peace offering of scissors, and Bowens reluctantly obliges…only for Perry to bite his hand! Bowens fights him back to the ropes, hanging Perry up by his jungleberries before sending him to the floor. Bowens leaves the ring, hoisting Jack up on his shoulders before dropping him onto the apron. Perry starts to fight back, landing a dive that sends both men to the floor as we go to an ad break.

Back from break, Perry takes Anthony down in the ring for a two count. He heads to the corner but is cut off by Bowens, who lands a thrust kick sending Perry to the corner. Kick to the back is followed by a slam off the ropes for a nearfall. Jack fights back with an arm drag and a thrust kick, but Bowens takes him down for another two count.

A knee strike from Anthony garners the same result, except now both men are down. They slowly fight to their feet before Bowens hoists Perry up…but Jack counters for a nearfall! Bowens responds with a cradle of his own for two, followed by a clothesline. He hits the ropes but runs into a knee by Perry, who goes to the corner for another knee strike that gets him the win and another crack at the AEW National Championship!

Winner: Jack Perry via Pinfall.

Perry gives Bowens a hand, embracing him in a show of sportsmanship before Perry heads over to the announce table to go after Ricochet. He takes the champ toward backstage to continue the brawl as commentary pivots to hyping up our main event.

Backstage: Death Riders

Backstage, Jon Moxley says they’ve given the Don Callis Family space to do business things, but the match they lit tonight is something else. PAC wants to know who “the f–k” they think they are, and Daniel Garcia tells us what family really is. Mox says he knows exactly who Don Callis really is, and of all the bad people in professional wrestling Jon is the worst…when he has to be. Marina says…something, but even my lip-reading abilities can’t quick make it out (probably starts with a P, tho) before the Death Riders walk off.

AEW World Trios Championship
Hangman Adam Page & JetSpeed (Kevin Knight & “Speedball” Mike Bailey) vs. The Opps (Powerhouse Hobbs, Katsuyori Shibata, & Samoa Joe) (c)

We start off with Page and Joe…or maybe not, because in comes Shibata. Chants of “Cowboy s–t” turn to “Speedball s–t” when Bailey tags in to confront The Wrestler. Shibata offers a handshake, but it’s all a ruse as he goes on the attack. Bailey sent to the ropes but he takes control with a flurry of kicks.

Tag made to Kevin Knight as JetSpeed double-team Shibata for a nearfall. Shibata fights back with a slap to the back before bringing him to the corner for a tag to Hobbs. Knight lands some forearm strikes but gets taken out with ease by the Powerhouse.

He brings Knight up for a slam but Kevin breaks free, tagging in Hangman who goes to work on Hobbs…only to be sent to the ropes by the Powerhouse. He takes Page to task before tagging in Shibata, who sends Page to the corner for a running kick. Page manages to drop Shibata to the mat for a two count, and a tag is made as Speedball gets back in.

Shibata fights off Bailey to take him to the ropes, landing a suplex that sends Bailey onto the apron and then the floor as we go to an ad break.

Back from break, Joe is in control as he takes Bailey to the corner…only for Speedball to fight back with a dropkick sending the champ away! Tag made to Hobbs and Page, the latter taking out Shibata before going after Joe on the outside. Hobbs goes after him, only to be sent to the outside by Hangman for a moonsault onto all three Opps!

Page brings the Powerbomb onto the apron for a Dead Eye, but Hobbs fights back as he lifts the Hangman up…only to be swept off his feet by Speedball! Hobbs drops Page as Bailey hits a backflip double knee driving Hobbs into the apron, but Hobbs gets a tag to Joe as Knight tags in. Powerslam by Joe leads to a nearfall before it gets broken up.

Ring gets cleared out as Hobbs tags in, and The Opps triple-team Knight leading to a pin that gets broken up by Page. Shibata goes after Bailey as Joe chokes out Page with a Coquina Clutch, and Hobbs sends Knight to the ropes looking for a spinebuster…only for Kevin to counter, stacking Hobbs up for the pin! We have new champs!

Winner: Hangman Adam Page & JetSpeed via Pinfall to become the new AEW World Trios Champions.

We see Swerve Strickland looking on from the tag as the new champs celebrate. Commentary hypes up the matches for next week as this special Maximum Carnage edition of Collision comes to a close.
