HOOK on His Character in AEW Being Similar To His Real Life Persona, His Passion for Pro Wrestling, Working With His Father Taz in AEW, & Will Be Lead Actor in His Next Film

A recent episode of the Busted Open Radio podcast featured HOOK as the guest. One of the topics discussed included HOOK’s thoughts about how his character in AEW is similar to his real life persona.

“Ah, man — I’m me. I’m a dude from New York. My father’s one of the greatest ever, and I’m the greatest second-generation wrestler of all time.”

HOOK also gave his thoughts about how his father Taz originally did not want him to pursue a career in pro wrestling and how pro wrestling has become a passion for him.

“I thought I wanted to go work in business. Once I was taking classes, I was like, ‘I can’t do this with my life.’ So, I opened my mind up to something else I’m passionate about with different creative outlets. And then I had my mind and eyes kind of opened up to pro wrestling being the perfect hybrid of two of my biggest passions, between being an athlete and being creative, being an artist. So, it was very organic the way it came about. And it is the purest passion in my life, 100 percent.”

HOOK also gave his thoughts about working with his father Taz in AEW.

“It’s really cool. I mean, it’s something I try to remind myself to be really grateful for. Because, naturally, me and my father can butt heads — as fathers and sons do. But I value all of his advice so, so deeply. Being able to have someone right there like my father, it’s something I don’t take lightly and I’m very, very grateful for.”

HOOK also revealed that he will be the lead actor for his next upcoming film project.

“I’d love to be a leading man. This next piece that we’re shooting, I’ll get the opportunity to lead so that’ll be my first chance leading. But really, I’m looking to get as much experience as possible and just really find different lanes and try different things out.”
