Tuesday’s NJPW Road to The New Beginning 2026 event in Tokyo, Japan featured one new match announced for the card of The New Beginning in Osaka 2026, which takes place on February 11th at the Edion Arena Osaka in Osaka, Japan.
This new match announced was an IWGP Heavyweight Championship match of Jake Lee vs. Yota Tsuji (c).
This new match was setup following United Empire (Callum Newman, Francesco Akira, Great-O-Khan, Jake Lee, & Jakob Austin Young) defeating Unbound Company (Gedo, Hiromu Takahashi, Shingo Takagi, Taiji Ishimori, & Yota Tsuji) in a 10-Man Tag Team match. Following the match, Tsuji confronted Lee and issued a challenge where he would put his IWGP Heavyweight title on the line for a match between the two at The New Beginning in Osaka. Lee responded accepting the challenge to make the match official for the show.
