Update:
PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that several TNA talent who were scheduled to travel for tonight’s live TNA Impact! show in Albuquerque, New Mexico are not in attendance backstage at the show.
Johnson reported that these talent were waiting for their work visas to be processed meaning that TNA’s issues with it are still on-going as of Thursday.
Last Thursday’s TNA Impact! show in Garland, Texas was notable for being Impact! premiere show on AMC. This show was notable for TNA having to make changes to their original plans for the show due to several talents and staff not being able to travel for the show due to work visa-related issues. Among those who missed the show included Dani Luna and TNA X-Division Champion Leon Slater.
A recent episode of the Wrestling Observer Live featured co-host and TNA producer Lance Storm providing an update on the current visa issues situation for TNA.
Storm stated that the visas for talents and staff not based in the United States was sorted out on January 21st but some talent and staff might still be impacted due to the timing and might not be able to travel in time for tonight’s live show in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
“Unfortunately, no (I am not going to be at TNA tapings in Albuquerque). The good news is visas came through finally. But, they came through yesterday evening… Several hours after I would need to be in the air already, and getting into today would be a 12-hour, probably very expensive flight to get me in quite late so, the decision was made that with my travel plans canceled, I remain home this loop. Others may have managed to get in but, at least the visa issue is behind us and we can move forward and hopefully, this evening, 9 PM, AMC, there’ll be a great show… I will not be at work until February.”
