Thursday’s taped Ring of Honor’s ROH TV show featured AEW and ROH talent and coach Madison Rayne officially announcing her retirement from her in-ring wrestling career.
During the show, Athena’s Minions In Training (Billie Starkz & Diamante) defeated Rayne and ROH Women’s Pure Champion Deonna Purrazzo in a tag team match.
In a follow-up segment, Rayne and Purrazzo were seen backstage and Rayne reflected on her 20-year wrestling career and how tonight was exceptionally emotional for her since it was the end of an era for her. Rayne talked about how when she lost her father in 2025, she lost a piece of herself but has been re-finding that purpose and self she had with her coaching and helping with the next generation.
Rayne then announced her retirement from her in-ring wrestling career and thanked Purrazzo for being her partner and best friend and it being the perfect way for her to ride her wave out of 2025 and her wrestling career. Rayne and Purrazzo gave an emotional hug to each other and Rayne gave more praise to Purrazzo.
Prior to her announcement, Rayne had been wrestling since March of 2005.
