As noted before, Tuesday’s WWE NXT New Year’s Evil 2026 show at the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida featured Oba Femi defeating Leon Slater to retain the NXT Championship. Following his match, the show went to a backstage segment involving NXT GM Ava and Robert Stone before going back to the ring revealing Femi being nowhere to be seen and the NXT title being left alone in the ring.
WWE confirmed on Twitter that Femi has officially vacated his NXT Championship.

Following the show, Femi commented on Instagram about his decision to vacate his NXT Championship stating “The End is also part of the journey πͺΆ FIN !“
