JDC Comments on Why He Selected Eddie Edwards To Be His Retirement Match Opponent
As noted before, JDC will be retiring from his in-ring wrestling career at this Saturday’s TNA Genesis 2026 event in Garland, Texas.
A recent episode of the Battleground Podcast featured JDC as the guest. One of the topics discussed included JDC’s thoughts about his reasons why he chose Eddie Edwards to be the opponent for his retirement match at TNA Genesis 2026.
“We started together up in Boston probably 20, 22 years ago. I ended up going the WWE route. Eddie (Edwards) went to Japan. Every year we do WrestleMania, Eddie would be in town for ROH or some other Comic-Con gimmick or whatever so we’d catch up every year and it’s just full circle. I wanna end my career on a serious note. Eddie’s probably one of the, if not the best wrestler on the roster, and when you play a comedy character for so long, sometimes you feel like you got something to prove, like I do. I take wrestling very seriously, and I just don’t want people to remember me for Kramer. Busting through the door, you know what I’m saying? I don’t wanna be remembered for the dance. I wanna be remembered and respected for being a good wrestler, because that’s why I got into the business and I can’t think of anybody better to work than one of my best friends. I went to management and I go, ‘I want Eddie for the last match.’ They’re like, ‘You got it…’ It’s gonna be an emotional weekend, for me and the guys, and The System, but full circle. It’s just full circle. We started together. We went on different paths and we came back together and I’m gonna end it with them so, yeah, you can’t write it. You can’t write this sh*t.”

Mike Santana Comments on He Wants TNA To Be Priority For All of TNA’s Roster & Doesn’t Want To Hear Excuses Of Guys Missing TNA Shows for Indies Bookings
A recent episode of Jonathan Coachman’s Off The Ropes podcast featured Mike Santana as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Santana’s thoughts about how he wants TNA’s roster members to prioritize TNA and how he does not care if someone has an indie date that conflicts with TNA since they need to put TNA first.
“I think, also, one thing that I’ve realized and I’ll say this and I’ll be real about it. TNA needs to be a priority for everybody. If this is the place that we’re gonna be busting our ass for and we’re gonna have the biggest platform that we have, then, I don’t wanna hear excuses of guys like, ‘Oh no, I’ve got this indie show so I gotta miss this date.’ What’s the point of all that? What are we doing here? And that’s from top to bottom. I could care less who has a problem with what I’m saying. It’s the truth. If TNA is not gonna be your priority, then, why are we gonna make you a priority?”
