PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that DiBiase Jr. appeared in a court for his trial this past Monday. During the trial, John Davis, former executive director of the Mississippi Department of Human Services, testified for the prosecution stating that DiBiase Jr. knew he was taking money meant for needy families. Prosecutors reportedly claimed that Davis had directed millions of dollars to DiBiase and his brother, Brett, and showed text messages between Davis and the brothers as evidence. The text messages reportedly showed that Davis had told them that Mississippi would send them nationwide to teach leadership courses and that all states used TANF funds to create training programs. Despite being paid for it, DiBiase Jr. had never rendered those services. DiBiase’s attorneys claimed DiBiase is innocent and Davis was the mastermind of the fraud. Actually, they’re gonna call me every time. They’re gonna call me, and I’m gonna fight people, and I’m tired of doing it.Would you wanna be on high alert every single time you stepped outside your front door, like, ‘oh, is there people here?’ Like, that’s crazy. This is not like we live in Hollywood, and there’s like bus tours. Like, ‘come see where these famous people live.’ We live in the middle of nowhere. Don’t do this, don’t encourage this.
