Lucha Libre AAA recently announced that The Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley) will be making an appearance for the company at their AAA TV show on January 24th on FOX Latin America.

Former wrestler Bobby Duncan Sr. recently passed away at the age of 81. Duncan Sr.’s passing was first announced by WWE. Duncan Sr.’s pro wrestling career spanned from 1966 to 1986 and worked for various notable companies including WWWF, American Wrestling Association, and the National Wrestling Alliance. Duncan Sr.’s notable career achievements and accolades included being a one-time AWA World Tag Team Champion, one-time NWA Southern Heavyweight Champion (Florida), one-time NWA United States Tag Team Champion (Florida), and one-time NWA Southeastern Heavyweight Championship (Georgia).

Wednesday’s CMLL Informa show featured CMLL announcing that MxM TV (Mason Madden, Mansoor, & Johnny TV) will be making an appearance for the company at their Super Viernes show on January 30th at the Arena Mexico in Mexico City, Mexico.

Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling recently announced that Don Callis will be making an appearance for the company at their co-promoted ROH x MLP Global Wars Canada event on March 27th and their Uprising 2026 event on March 28th in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.

As noted before, Stardom talent Saya Kamitani has been on a break from wrestling since NJPW’s Wrestle Kingdom 20 event earlier this month. Wednesday’s New Year Stars 2026 in Tokyo, Japan featured Kamitani making a surprise appearance. During the show, Starlight Kid was in the ring promoting her stylebook. This led to Kamitani running out and attacked Kid. Kamitani grabbed the microphone and stated that she was on paid leave and will make her official return from her break at Stardom’s Supreme Fight in Osaka event on February 7th in Osaka.

Pro Wrestling NOAH recently announced that they will be holding a new tournament called Universe Cup from March 9th to February 6th in Japan. This tournament was announced to be featuring competitors from promotions under the WRESTLE UNIVERSE banner. These promotions are NOAH, DDT Pro Wrestling, Michinoku Pro, ZERO1, BASARA, Ganbare Pro, Pro Wrestling Up Town, and MONDAY MAGIC.

Major League Wrestling recently announced that Wolfgang is the next official competitor for this year’s Battle Riot match at their Battle Riot VIII event on January 29th in Kissimmee, Florida.

As noted before, TNA had released a video featuring Nic Nemeth attempting to cash-in his Call Your Shot trophy on TNA World Champion Mike Santana at last week’s TNA Impact! premiere show on AMC. This post-show angle led to the announcement of the Texas Deathmatch and special guest referee stips for the TNA World title match at TNA Genesis 2026. PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that timing-related issues were not the reason why the angle involving Nemeth and Santana did not air on the live broadcast of TNA Impact!’s AMC premiere show. Johnson reported that those spoken to stated that TNA officials had always planned for that segment to take place after the show and be used on social media to help drive additional interest and ticket sales for this past Saturday’s TNA Genesis 2026 event.

Rapper and 4th Rope wrestling promotion owner Westside Gunn recently commented on Twitter about him being interested in the idea of him potentially purchasing TNA Wrestling in the future. Japanese Deathmatch legend Atsushi Onita recently announced on Twitter that he had suffered cervical spine injury at an indie event for Hiroshima Pro Wrestling Festival this past Sunday in Japan. Onita suffered the injury during a six-man tag Scramble Bunkhouse Deathmatch involving him attempting a piledriver spot on a table but the table’s legs bent causing him to fall off and land on his neck on the floor. Onita stated#Sorry for making you worry Oh no, oh no When I tried riding it, the desk was super slippery I ended up slipping and losing my footing Got a block injection in Hiroshima They gave me something to stop the pain as emergency treatment Once I’m back, I’ll have my regular doctor do a thorough examination.

As noted before, former WCW wrestler Marcus “Buff” Bagwell underwent leg amputation surgery this past July. In a recent interview with the Insight with Chris Van Vliet podcast, Bagwell stated that he is currently hopeful of having one more match for his wrestling career after his leg amputation. Bagwell stated “I know I could wrestle again — another match or two. But if I can’t do it where it’s [not] ugly, I’m not going to do it. And I’m not sure that’s possible. I don’t want it to be ugly. If it’s ugly at all, I’m not going to do it.” Bagwell also gave his thoughts about one of the biggest hurdles for him for another potential match would involve climbing the steps to get into the ring. Bagwell stated “That will be the first thing you got to conquer, is getting in, or sliding in and getting up fast. But again, if I can’t do those things without them being [ugly], I’m not going to do it. But I think I can. I think I can do it where it’s not ugly. I just don’t know yet. So we’re definitely going to, in the next couple of months, I’m going to get in the ring and just see what I can do.
