CM Punk Comments on Future of His Wrestling Career & Potential Retirement Plans
CinemaBlend held a recent interview with current WWE World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk. One of the topics discussed included Punk’s thoughts about the future of his wrestling career and him potentially retiring when he reaches 50 years old.
“When I was 15, if you asked me if I’d be wrestling when I was 40, I would tell you ‘No, that’s crazy. 40 is so old.’ I’m 47, and I don’t feel old yet. Terry Funk wrestled for a long time, Ric Flair wrestled for a long time. I mean, there’s luchadors that are like in their 70s that are still doing it. Do I want to be doing that? Probably not. I would estimate probably the big 50 is when I should maybe gracefully bow out. Knock on wood, if nothing else horrible happens.”
Punk also gave his thoughts about John Cena’s retirement from in-ring wrestling and his praise of Cena getting out at the right time.
“A lot of the times you don’t get a choice. That’s why it was special to watch John retire. To me, it was a perfect retirement. We’re celebrating a guy who isn’t dead and can still walk. I tell people all the time none of us are getting out alive. He got out at the right time. He showed us a way to exit with dignity and grace, and I don’t know if mine will look that way. I don’t know what mine’s going to look like. I do know it’s coming sooner than later. I’m still having fun operating at a high level, no matter what anybody says, and until I can’t contribute, I still will.”
Chelsea Green Comments on Her Wanting a WWE Unreal Style Show Focused on Women’s Locker Room
A recent episode of SiriusXM’s Page Six Radio show featured Chelsea Green as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Green’s thoughts about her wanting a WWE Unreal style show in the future that is just focused on WWE’s women’s locker room.
“If we had an unreal that was just the girls’ locker room, which I would absolutely love. Let’s put it into the universe. It would be interesting because I think 99.9% of us really get along. We don’t just get along. Like we really like to travel together. We like to have our martinis together. We support each other when someone wins a title. You know, we’re excited for each other, but like, it’s still work. It’s still a locker room. There are still so many different personalities. So it would be interesting to see who actually doesn’t like me.
This past Friday, I got my ass kicked by Guila. She took the title off me and she near, you know, um, took my, my weave right outta my head. She almost snatched me bald. I am sure I said some things in that moment. Like, I’m sure my mouth was going faster than my brain, so it’d be interesting if they caught those moments, you know what I mean?”
