A recent episode of the Busted Open After Dark podcast featured WWE NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Jayne’s thoughts about her surprise appearance in the Women’s Royal Rumble match at this past January’s Royal Rumble 2026 event in Saudi Arabia.
“Yeah, I was hidden for a while. So we flew to Saudi but, we weren’t allowed to actually go out and do anything because we were surprises and we didn’t wanna give it away that we were there. So kind of just hid out in the hotel for a while, for like a week. Well, not just the room. Just the hotel in general. I was allowed to go downstairs and work out and go eat…”
Jayne also gave her thoughts about the process of getting her bodysuit gear approved by WWE corporate for the event over issues related to Saudi Arabia’s laws on women’s clothing allowed in public places.
“So you couldn’t show arms, legs. They wanted full body suit. Nothing that insinuates anything. That was basically it but it was weird because you had to put in a request. So you had to have your seamstress draw out a design for corporate to approve it essentially, and the first design I sent them, they were like, ‘No…’ It wasn’t anything crazy. It was just a red body suit and it had chains, like my regular gear, but made into a bodysuit, and they were like, ‘No red, no chains, no black straps.”
Jayne also gave her thoughts about not being able to wear red for her gear.
“I think it was because The Bella Twins were there and they were in red. I’m assuming that’s why. I never actually asked why. It’s fine. I’ll let The Bella Twins do their job. I’m happy to do the J.O.B. to The Bellas.”
Jayne also gave her thoughts about how competing in her bodysuit gear restricted her movement in the ring.
“The body suit was so tight on me, I was suffocating… It did not move the way it should have moved… It restricted me. I went to throw a superkick and I felt like I couldn’t even lift my leg. I was fighting the bodysuit. I was like, ‘Oh my God, all my stuff is gonna look so bad because I can’t extend my legs and my arms.’”
Jayne also gave her thoughts about her lengthy time in WWE’s NXT brand and if she thinks it is time for a call-up to the main roster.
“At the end of this month will be five years (that I’ve been in NXT). Um, yeah. Listen, I’m ready. When they give me that call, I know I’m ready. I am not nervous, I’m not scared. I know I belong up there.”
Jayne also gave her thoughts about her belief that she was not ready for WWE’s main roster during her Toxic Attraction run and how she probably would have been fired by now if her main roster call-up had happened at that time.
“So I think, if we rewind, once Toxic Attraction broke up, let’s say, I got a big head. I mean, I guess off-screen right now. So I thought I was ready. I thought I was, ‘I’m gonna be the next one,’ the whole nine, and I was in fact not ready. I was hyping myself up a little too bit. I needed to be humbled. So, looking back now, 100 percent I was not ready and if I went up when me and Gigi (Dolin) were doing those SmackDowns for a little bit, oh, I would have failed. I probably would have been fired by now. So, I’m happy that I’ve been here this long because now I know I really am ready. Now I can say confidently, I’m ready to be put in a bigger position, I’m ready to be on Raw or SmackDown. Wherever they need me, that’s fine. I feel like I understand the business a lot more. I understand what this really is.”
Jayne also gave her thoughts about the differences between the current version of Fatal Influence with Lainey Reid and the previous version with Jazmyn Nyx.
“I think you are on the money. I think we mesh very well together. I think we all feed off of each other really well, and I think Lainey (Reid) is so ahead of her time. She’s only been wrestling, maybe three years, I’ll say. I don’t even know if it’s been that long. But, she hangs out with the veterans. She can go in the ring and she’s smart. She knows exactly what she’s doing out there.
Lainey is a student of the game. She wants to learn. She studies it all day long. She’s in open-ring all the time. She will ask questions, ‘What can I do better? How can I make this better?’ She is invested. 100 percent of her effort goes into this, and I don’t necessarily say if I could say the same about Jazmyn (Nyx). I think Jazmyn loved this, for sure, and I think she tried very hard and she was naturally good at it, but, to say that she dedicated her entire life to this, I don’t know if I could say that.”
