As noted before, the February 4th AEW Dynamite show in Las Vegas, Nevada featured the crowd chanting “Fuck ICE” prior to the start of the AEW World Championship Eliminator match between Brody King and MJF. Besides AEW’s Dynamite show, this past Saturday’s AEW Grand Slam Australia 2026 event in Sydney, Australia also featured anti-ICE chants by the crowd prior to the start of the AEW World Championship match between King and MJF.
A recent episode of the Last Week Tonight with John Oliver show featured a story on the controversial actions that have been taken by ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) and DHS (Department of Homeland Security) in recent months in the United States. During the segment, host John Oliver referenced the anti-ICE chants at the February 4th as part of the examples of anti-ICE sentiment being found in unexpected places
“Excellent. Well done to everyone involved there. From the crowd getting their point across in the perfect way, to MJF going full Jim from ‘The Office’ [while looking] into the camera.”
Oliver also brought up how ICE ads would sometimes air on AEW shows on TBS and TNT and the satisfying nature of ICE having to pay money to appear alongside the anti-ICE chants.

The recent crowd chants were in support of King being an outspoken critic of ICE and their controversial actions towards American citizens and immigrants in recent months.
