As noted before, Penelope Ford suffered an apparent injury during the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship match between MegaBad (Megan Bayne & Ford) and Babes of Wrath (Willow Nightingale & Harley Cameron) at Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show in Denver, Colorado.
Fightful Select reported that their sources confirmed that Ford had suffered a legitimate injury that caused her to not be able to continue the match.
It was reported that an audible was called resulting in the finish involving MegaBad’s Lena Kross getting involved in the match to cause the disqualification ending.
No other details were given regarding the nature of the injury but Ford is believed to have suffered it following her performing a moonsault to the outside and landing between Nightingale and Cameron. Ford reportedly was attended to by AEW medics during the commercial break and ruled out of the remainder of the match.
It was reported that it is currently not known who were the originally planned winners for the match but Ford’s injury and changed finish did cause AEW officials to make a few immediate adjustments to their original plans for the show as a result.
PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that the current belief is that Ford had suffered a leg injury. Those spoken to reportedly also confirmed that an audible was called and the original planned finish for the match was changed.
