Eliminator Matches Announced To Determine #1 Contender for CMLL Women’s Title at March 6th Women’s Day 2026 Event

Wednesday’s CMLL Informa show featured the announcement of an Eliminator series of matches to determine the official opponent for Mercedes Mone’s CMLL World Women’s Championship match at their Women’s Day 2026 event on March 6th in Mexico City, Mexico.

The first Eliminator match was announced to be a tag team match of Olympia & Persephone vs. Tessa Blanchard & Zeuxis that will be taking place at their February 24th event.

The second Eliminator match was announced to be the winning team will be facing off against each other in a singles match and the winner of that match will become the official challenger for the CMLL World Women’s Championship.

TJ Perkins vs. Laredo Kid for AAA Cruiserweight Title Announced for Feb. 21st AAA TV Show

Lucha Libre AAA announced one new match for the card of this week’s show on February 21st on FOX Latin America and WWE and AAA’s YouTube channels.

This new match announced was an AAA Cruiserweight Championship match of TJ Perkins vs. Laredo Kid (c).

Misc. Wrestling News & Notes

Lucha Blog reported that CMLL recently made several changed to the rules for their Trios matches going forward. It was reported that CMLL dropped the captain rules for Trios matches and all matches are now one fall to a finish. The previous rules were Trios matches were held under a Best 2-out-of-3 Falls unless the captain of a team was pinned which would end the match. It was reported that those within AEW did not ask for any rules changes for matches involving their talents in CMLL and instead CMLL made the decision on their own.

Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling recently announced that Deonna Purrazzo will be making an appearance for the company at their co-promoted ROH x MLP Global Wars Canada event on March 27th and their Uprising 2026 event on March 28th in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.

United Japan Pro-Wrestling held a meeting this past Tuesday in Japan to discuss and unanimously approve the appointments of Pro Wrestling FREEDOMS’ owner Takashi Sasaki and Sendai Girls’ co-owner Meiko Satomura as the new of the organization. Satomura became the first female director of UJPW since the group’s founding in December of 2023.

As noted before, WWE Hall of Famer Typhoon, real name Fred Ottman had been hospitalized for the past month due to a serious health issue involving his gallbladder had “exploded” inside of him and him suffering a serious infection afterwards. Ottman was discharged from the hospital earlier this month and is scheduled to undergo surgery on February 23rd. Ottman recently provided an update on Facebook stating that everything went well with his pre-surgery consultation and things are currently looking good for him ahead of his upcoming surgery.

Josh Barnett recently announced that Erick Stevens is the next official competitor for Game Changer Wrestling’s Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport XV event on April 17th in Las Vegas, Nevada.

House of Glory recently announced that The Acclaimed (Max Caster & Anthony Bowens) will be making an appearance for the company at their HOG x Big Event EXS SuperClash event on March 21st in Brentwood, New York.

Major League Wrestling recently announced that this year’s Summer of the Beasts event will be taking place on June 12-13 at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was also announced that they will be holding MLS Fusion tapings those same nights.
