Mickie James Comments on Her TNA In-Ring Future Following TNA No Surrender 2026 Appearance
As noted before, this past Friday’s TNA No Surrender 2026 event in Nashville, Tennessee featured TNA Hall of Famer Mickie James making a surprise appearance. James got involved in a brawl with The Elegance Brand following The Elegance Brand’s victory over Indi Hartwell & Xia Brookside to retain their TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Championship and post-match attack.
A recent episode of the Busted Open Radio podcast featured James as the guest. One of the topics discussed included James’ thoughts about her in-ring future following her recent appearance at TNA’s event.
You know, I’ve been doing a lot. I’ve been doing a lot of soul searching too, everything from doing the [WWE] LFG and being kind of that mentor space. Wrestling is one of those things, like, it’s in your blood. And I’m so competitive, and you just constantly go like, ‘What if? What if?’
I think that for me, whatever opportunity that feels right and feels good in the space, I would probably be — I mean, I will always be involved in wrestling in some capacity, because I just love it with my whole heart. I’ve dedicated over half my life to it at this point. I’m very, very passionate about it.
And so, I don’t really know. And I think that’s kind of a weird place for me, and a scary place for me, but it’s also helped me sit back and kind of be open to anything that feels good and feels right. And if it doesn’t feel good and feels right, that’s okay too, you know?”
James also gave her thoughts about how everyone backstage at the show was great to her.
“It was cool to be back in the locker room. And I was, you know, not worried, but you always wonder, like, ‘Oh, how are people going to feel, even behind the scenes and that stuff?’ And the locker room was awesome. The girls there were awesome. They were so great.
And, yeah, it was just good to be back in the mix for a second. Honestly, it was nice to just knock some dust off the old high heels, you know? The high-heel working boots.”

Yota Tsuji Apologizes For Negative Bushiroad Comments At NJPW The New Beginning In Osaka 2026 Event
NJPW’s The New Beginning in Osaka 2026 event earlier this month in Osaka, Japan featured Yota Tsuji defeating Jake Lee to retain the IWGP Heavyweight Championship. This match was notable for comments Tsuji made during his post-match speech that were negative towards NJPW’s parent company Bushiroad. Tsuji stated that the NJPW wrestlers are not cards in a game and they’re risking their lives in the ring in response to Bushiroad putting most of their focus and funding on their way more profitable trading card game division in the company.
Tokyo Sports held a recent interview with Tsuji. One of the topics discussed included Tsuji issuing an apology to Bushiroad for the negative public comments he made towards the company.
“I want to apologize for using ‘Bushiroad’ in that way. With dissatisfaction among the current roster, someone had to speak up. I felt everyone’s sense of reality regarding departures had become numb. I wanted to put a stop to this situation. That’s why I, as the champion, felt I had to make a statement. This is actually an opportunity. While fans are wondering, ‘Is everything okay?’ I want to lay bare the current state, drain all the pus, and then build New Japan Pro-Wrestling up even more.”
Tsuji also gave his thoughts about his recent contract negotiations with NJPW that led to him signing a new contract to remain in the company and him wondering if he was being viewed in the proper light as a pro wrestler by Bushiroad.
“Financially speaking, I understand the business differences between the U.S. and Japan. But there must be a way. I want us to unite now. The main premise is that we are human beings. It’s true that sometimes, even during contract negotiations, I wonder if they’re truly treating us as professional wrestlers. I wanted to convey that we’re risking our lives in the ring.”
