Chelsea Green Provides Update on Broken Ankle Injury

As noted before, Chelsea Green has been out of action for WWE and Lucha Libre AAA since earlier this month due to an ankle injury that was later revealed to be a broken ankle.

A recent episode of the Busted Open Radio podcast featured Green as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Green providing an update on her recovery from her broken ankle injury and how she had asked WWE if she could stay on WWE television despite her injury.

“I’m good, I’m sore. The ankle is chipped. I mean, the internet knew my ankle was all sorts of things before I even knew. But, yeah, it’s broken but it’s not the worst kind of break so we’re good, we’re good. We’re healing up very quickly which I’m so thankful for.

So when I broke it and found out — I broke it on Friday but I actually didn’t find out till Wednesday. Well, I had already done three Disney and Universal days. I had already been drinking and walking and rollercoastering. So I was like, ‘Well, if I can do all that, let me just text work and I wanna work. I wanna be in a wheelchair or I wanna be hobbling around in a boot.’ I mean, come on. Come on. So many fun things.”

Michael Hayes Clarifies His Negative Comments About Chelsea Green Not Meant To Be In Big Star Roles in WWE

As noted before, the second season of the WWE: Unreal docuseries on Netflix featured WWE producer Michael Hayes making negative comments about Chelsea Green’s star status in WWE. Hayes had stated that Green should not be in big star roles like Charlotte Flair or Tiffany Stratton and instead it was her job was to make others into bigger stars like them in WWE.

A recent episode of the Six Feet Under with The Undertaker podcast featured Hayes as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Hayes clarifying his recent comments about Green and claimed that parts of his comments were edited out of the broadcast of the show. Hayes also stated that he did not regret what he said about Green’s star making role in WWE.

“I’ve talked to Netflix about this because when we did that interview, and I recall this specifically, that when we started the interview, the first thing I said was, Chelsea is as good or as talented and entertaining as anyone we have. But, of course, that never saw the light of day. That was on the cutting room floor because if you’re going to make me a heel, that’s the best way to do it, to say she’s not good enough. And that’s not really what I was saying.

I don’t regret what I said because her role at the time I said that, and even right now, is not the top role. It is to help make other people. And as you know, we all know that we’re only as good as the people that help make us.

With that said, if Chelsea caught fire because of this following and the support that she has, we’d go with that in a heartbeat. Look at Daniel Bryan. Look at Kofi Kingston. When they both caught fire, we went with it. Whether some people up top agreed with that or not, they went with it because that’s what the people wanted. We’re not there right now with Chelsea.”

Host The Undertaker responded to Hayes stating that he believes that Green has the “It” factor needed to be a top star in wrestling and how there are certain organizations that know how to use Green in reference to Lucha Libre AAA.

“I think she, without a doubt, with just a hair more mean streak, I think she can be a top player. She has that thing, that ‘it’ thing.

And I just think there’s a lot of great things coming for that young lady. I’m a big fan of hers.

There’s certain organizations around that know how to use her. You got to go south of the border, you’ve got to go south of the border.”
