AEW held a media scrum following Sunday’s Revolution 2026 event at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California.
Some of the notable highlights included:
- At the start of the media scrum, The Dogs’ Gabe Kidd came out to interrupt and after an obsinity-laden promo calling out NJPW, NJPW President Hiroshi Tanahashi, and Darby Allin. Kidd stated “I don’t care about New Japan Pro Wrestling,” he continued. “F*** New Japan Pro Wrestling. F*** that old cripple, Hiroshi Tanahashi. F*** all the Young Boys, f*** every single one of them. And f*** Darby Allin the most.” Gabe then asked AEW CEO Tony Khan to give him an unsanctioned Coffin match against Allin at this Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show. Kidd said this would be the only way that things between him and Allin would be settled and claimed Allin would be “pushing up the daisies.” Khan agreed to Kidd’s request making the match official for the show.
- During her portion of the media scrum, AEW Women’s World Champion Thekla stated that she would do anything it took to help Triangle of Madness’ fellow members Julia Hart and Skye Blue win the AEW Women’s Tag Team Championship.
- During Orange Cassidy & Roderick Strong’s portion of the media scrum, Strong responded to a question about if he was part of The Conglomeration stating “maybe.“
- Cassidy and Strong then hinted that they wanted to team up together and go after the AEW World Tag Team Championship.
- AEW CEO Tony Khan stated during Cassidy and Strong’s portion of the media scrum that AEW Continental Classic tracksuits will be introduced soon in the company. Khan stated “I actually have some news on that. Matching tracksuits. You will have a matching tracksuit because you were both in the Continental Classic, and we’re gonna have Continental Classic tracksuits. That’s right… Blue League boys. A couple Blue League boys. They’re gonna have matching Blue League tracksuits. It’s gonna be awesome.“
- During AEW World Trios Champions “Speedball” Mike Bailey, Kevin Knight, & Mistico’s portion of the media scrum, AEW CEO Tony Khan stated that Mistico will be splitting time between AEW and CMLL following the announcement of him being signed to a dual contract. Khan stated “He will be splitting time. CMLL is an amazing partnership for AEW. What a sign of trust between the two promotions to have one of the greatest wrestlers of all time as a dual signee. We’ll be working with Salvador, now that he’s a champion in AEW, I’ll work with Salvador very closely to make sure we see Mistico in both CMLL and AEW as much as possible.”
- On the topic of AEW potentially holding a pay-per-view event in Mexico in the future, Khan stated ““It’s a great thought. I know that I would love someday to do that but I absolutely am focused on going back for Grand Slam Mexico which was such a huge success for us. Grand Slam Mexico was the most-watched AEW Dynamite last year. It’s one of the most successful AEW Dynamites ever. A pay-per-view (in Mexico) could be a great thing. I know that we are, right now, in conversations about going back for Grand Slam Mexico which is a hugely exciting thing for me. Of course, that was such a great memory for us.“
- Mistico gave his thoughts about working with Bailey and Knight stating through a translator that he was happy to have been partnered with Jet Speed and is happy he signed with AEW.
- During his portion of the media scrum, AEW National Champion Jungle Jack Perry gave his thoughts him winning the AEW National title and how it was a bittersweet moment for him. Perry stated “Today is kind of bittersweet. I don’t talk about it too much. My dad died like seven years ago. It’s not something I think about in a big way every single day, obviously, I think about it, but it’s been seven years and thankfully I’ve been able to have other stuff to put my mind towards. Today, coming here and being in this building, the only time I’ve been here is walking around with my dad. It was interesting and cool to be here in this way, but it was also sad because I was thinking that the best I wish could be here the most isn’t here. It’s tough but I think about the people I am lucky enough to have here. My mom and sister got to be here, which I’m grateful for. To be here with my best friend [Luchasaurus], who almost died a year ago. He had his illness, and I’m sure he’ll get into that at some point. It just puts it all in perspective. Real life happens, and it happens in ways you wouldn’t expect. To have this happen in this building, without getting into too much detail, there have been a lot of highs, but there have been some really low lows that I never really anticipated having, because I guess you don’t. There were times when I wondered, ‘Did I give my life to the wrong thing? Am I not doing well enough? Did I make a mistake?’ You only get on go around, maybe, I guess, who knows. I thought, ‘this is my life, did I make the right choice with it?’ I’ve questioned that at times, which hurts. To be here now and succeed in such an overwhelming way, with my family and friends, in a company that I’ve been part of since day one, that reaffirms to me that I made the right choice. I thought, I hope somewhere [my dad] can see this.“
- During his portion of the media scrum, AEW CEO Tony Khan provided an update on AEW World Champion MJF and Hangman Adam Page following their Texas Death match on the show. Khan stated that both MJF and Page were “hurting badly” backstage following their match and MJF was in an angry mood and covered from “head to toe in blood.”
- On the topic of Ronda Rousey’s surprise appearance, Khan stated “Well, Ronda (Rousey) is a really good friend of Marina Shafir, and Marina brought her in as backup… Marina and Ronda are good friends. Ronda’s actually wrestled for me before, but never in AEW. Ronda wrestled in ROH. We had a great match a few years ago, also in Los Angeles. It was Ronda and Marina teaming up in ROH against Billie Starkz and the World Champion Athena. I thought it was fantastic. I loved that match, and when Marina said Ronda was gonna be her backup, well, it’s like, okay, everyone’s banned from ringside… Ronda Rousey’s a huge star, so, we have a great relationship with her. She’s wrestled for me before in ROH, and she’s always welcomed here in AEW anytime. She’s got a big fight coming up against Gina Carano and I don’t know Gina Carano at all. Ronda’s always been very good to me. I wish her the best.”
- On the topic of if AEW would have a presence at Rousey’s upcoming MMA return fight against Gina Carano, Khan stated “I think that would be great. Ronda’s always welcome here and anybody from AEW that wants to attend that fight is welcome to do so. Ronda may invite some people. Ronda invited me to the fight tonight. So, I guess so, yes, sounds like we’re gonna be there.”
- On the topic of AEW potentially holding a show at the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California in the future, Khan stated “You think? You think it’s a good idea? You like the SoFi idea? Could be interesting. It’s interesting. I’ve thought about it before. I think it’s interesting. It’s a very interesting idea. It’s not crazy at all. I don’t think that’s a crazy thought. When you saw all the star power, it gets your brain firing off and it makes you think. There were so many great wrestlers wrestling tonight, so many returns, surprises, the rivals, and moments. It’s not crazy.“
- On the topic of Megan Bayne and Lena Kross winning the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship, Khan stated that he was thrown a “pretty big curveball” when Penelope Ford was injured. Khan praised Kross for stepping up in the situation.
- On the topic of Hangman Page’s stipulation of him never being allowed to challenge for the AEW World title again after his loss to MJF, Khan stated that it was similar to Cody Rhodes’ agreement years ago in regards to it being a stipulation made between both parties and himself. Khan stated that both Rhodes and Page wanted to do the stipulation for their matches while he was less thrilled about it initially both times. Khan also stated that Page is known to be a man of his word and the agreement was a “verbal contract” between him and Page for it.
- On the topic of Paramount’s acquisition deal for Warner Bros Discovery and planned merger between the two, Khan gave praise to both Paramount and WBD. Khan also brought up the possibility of HBO MAX and Paramount+ working together and if it leads to more availability and exposure for AEW, that would be great for them.
- On the topic of wrestlers promoting political opinions on AEW shows and if he’s worried these potentially divisive opinions would turn off viewers, Khan stated that these are real people who are expressing their real opinion. Khan also stated that he doesn’t have any views other than the sport of wrestling itself and that is why it is great from his perspective for the wrestlers to express their own viewpoint. Khan also stated that AEW itself is not a political league.
